What litter does this work with?

Litter-Robot simply requires clumping litter. We recommend a high-quality, standard-weight, clay-based clumping litter. Some silica gel litter beads and crystals can also be used with Litter-Robot, as long as they pass through the screen. Alternative, plant-based litters may also work, but these tend to form looser clumps that can cause condensation in the waste drawer. When using a plant-based litter, we recommend emptying the waste drawer and cleaning more frequently. Litters that do not work in Litter-Robot are the strictly absorbent, non-clumping or loose-clumping litters, newspaper-based litters, and absorbent wood pellet litter.

Can I use Arm & Hammer or Fresh Step Litter with this?

What are the measurements?

The Litter-Robot 4 has the following dimensions: 29.5 inches (74.9cm) high, 22 inches (55.8cm) wide, 27 inches (68.6cm) deep. The entryway measures 15.75 inches high and 15.75 inches wide. The inside globe is 15-17 inches high (depending on litter level) x 19inches wide x 18 inches deep. The litter bed is 14 inches wide at maximum.

No more archeological digs!!

I have 2 cats and got the LR4 a week ago. I also got the Litter Hopper. The LR4 came already assembled. It was extremely easy to add the Litter Hopper. My cats

I have 2 cats and got the LR4 a week ago. I also got the Litter Hopper. The LR4 came already assembled. It was extremely easy to add the Litter Hopper. My cats took to the LR4 right away. It works like a dream!! No more excavating expeditions!! The Kitties are extremely happy to have a clean litter box every visit! No smell at all!! After one week, with 2 cats, the waste tray was at 70%. I emptied it without waiting for the App to notify me. The videos are very thorough & informative. It takes up the same amount of floor space as one litter box. I can’t say enough positive things about this product!! If you are considering getting one, you won’t regret!!

Not worth the money

I’ve been saving for this litter robot for a few years now only to be disappointed. The litter sticks to the sides no matter the litter used, it’s always dirty looking

I’ve been saving for this litter robot for a few years now only to be disappointed. The litter sticks to the sides no matter the litter used, it’s always dirty looking no matter how often you clean it. And I constantly have to reboot it for it to cycle. Then you still need to scoop the small pieces it doesn’t capture. I’m not sure if mine is just defective or what. But it just doesn’t work for more than a day. As you can see in the picture from the first day using it, the bottom also doesn’t sit properly in it. Very disappointing, I will for sure be needing another option, or replacement all together

So far so good with my new litter robot. We named her robbie lol. One of my cats was a little hesitant at first to use it but I used catnip and some of the used litter from their old box and seemed to do the trick! The room that it's used in smells so much better than their way less expensive robot they had. And that one always malfunctioned. Merry Christmas to our family on this one! If you haven't pulled the trigger I say it's worth it..ill probably never go back now.

Nightmare

I wanted a litter box that gave weight AND specifics at to what the cat did in the box. Pee or poop. When I realized that the Litter Robot 4 did not do this I cancelled

I wanted a litter box that gave weight AND specifics at to what the cat did in the box. Pee or poop. When I realized that the Litter Robot 4 did not do this I cancelled the order. It had not been shipped. Chewy online said the order was cancelled. But days later I got notification that it was shipped. So I called and they said it was cancelled. Then I got emails saying it was on route. So I called again and the person I spoke to was able to get it shipped back before it got to me. And she said my account would be credited. Two weeks later, the charge is on my credit card. So I had to call a third time to get this off. Still waiting but the people on the phone were very nice. Just kind of a mess somewhere down the line with accounting. I don't want to be charged for something I did not get and also have to pay interest on a credit card for something I did not purchase. Hopfully this does not happen. But still would buy things from this company. Just not sure why I had to follow up so much because nothing that they said they did was done.

It is huge!

In a perfect world - there would be no scooping! This huge investment has made my world as close to perfect as I have experienced since cats came into my life. Using the box has been a learning curve. We haven't given up the old box yet but we're heading in that direction. My girl kitties were the first to make the transition, they are enjoying the perpetually clean litter box. But first we played a game with it! Jackie O. Would stick her head in then back out 2 feet and watch the box go thru the dumping cycle. Others joined her to watch the show and gradually decided to go in and take care of business. If we don't 100 percent leave the old box it will still be worth it. I'm happy we made the decision to invest.

More reliable than LR3

Have owned multiple LR3 and LR4, they did a major improvement between those models. Not to knock The LR3s, really like them too, just had more reliability issues

It is efficient and clean with low motor noise

One cat after 3 weeks refuses to use it and other cat only uses it for urination. So, far nice but not effective. My friend's two cats took to it immediately

Don’t buy unless you know you’ll keep it

I’ve been trying to return my litter robot for almost 3 weeks. I have reached out to customer service 5 times (once the guy ended the chat on me without warning)

I’ve been trying to return my litter robot for almost 3 weeks. I have reached out to customer service 5 times (once the guy ended the chat on me without warning). I feel like I’m getting scammed out of keeping this product. I conveniently receive the emails about ads and everything else, but a return label is mysteriously not making it to the inbox. I will never be buying from chewy again. That was clearly my first mistake.
