Description

No canine senior diet on the market has proven itself like Wysong Senior dog food. It is created by a veterinarian and owes its popularity solely to veterinary recommendation and word of mouth. Senior all natural dog food has been fed to tens of thousands of canines through multiple generations for over thirty years. It promotes a long and active life. This improved formulation is designed to take advantage of new processing methods to preserve natural value, and nutritional advances in epigenetics and nutrigenomics. Senior has increased levels of high quality meats, organs, protein, and fat, and contains a comprehensive spectrum and higher levels of micronutrients/nutraceuticals including prebiotics, probiotics, enzymes, omega-3s, antioxidants and more. Small quantities of fruits and vegetables mimic what may be consumed in the viscera of prey, and contribute important vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients. Premium high quality nutrition is extremely important with aging digestion, physiology, and immune function, and this is what Senior provides.

I have a ShihTzu & a Shih Tzu/Pug Rescue (weird combo but cute) My Shih Tzu turned 10 & with all the commercials about ingredients I switched them to Blue. They ALWAYS "itched" but they started itching SO MUCH it was crazy & annoying! I started researching & found high protein isn't tolerated by little ones very much. So I started looking for Hypo-allergenic food & ran across Wysong brand. I bought 5 bags. 3 were "Anergen" (Hypo-allergenic), 1 Bag "Synorgon" For my ST/Pug to cover his nutritional needs & 1 Bag "Senior" just to cover those bases. I mixed them all together figuring I covered all the bases. I have dogs with champagne tastes on my Koolaid budget. I'm happy if they I have a ShihTzu & a Shih Tzu/Pug Rescue (weird combo but cute) My Shih Tzu turned 10 & with all the commercials about ingredients I switched them to Blue. I mixed them all together figuring I covered all the bases. I have dogs with champagne tastes on my Koolaid budget. I'm happy if they eat it. And they did. The food comes in VERY small pellets. The 1st day My Shih Tzu threw it all up. But I noticed it was swallowed hole. I realized the hard small pellets were difficult for him to chew with his old teeth. So now & grind his up & add water to make it a soft paste. Within a day, the itching stopped! Hooray!! When I took the ST to the vet his lab values were PERFECT! The Vet said she was AMAZED because of his age & breed. The lab that checks for allergies was a low normal value. She even asked ME what I was feeding them! Granted it doesn't smell so great. But I'm not the one who has to eat it. The smell doesn't bother them & there's NO coaxing or adding other food/juices to get them to eat it. They come running when they hear the container opening! Recommending Wysong...YOU BET!!! Just wish Chewy sold the larger bags but I'm sure my mail lady is grateful they don't, LOL. Wysong SHOULD ADVERTISE, they'd kill it!! … more

Our little old min pin likes the food. Kibble is small like cat food so eats it very well. We like this is made in Michigan since this is where we live.

  • Good alternative option

We mix this with other high quality kibble to keep our Weim interested in her food. So far, she eats it without any issues. Wish this came in larger bags! Great ingredients...will continue to buy and mix with main source of kibble. Please consider larger bags :)

  • Good product for my finicky eater!

My lab is 11 and has become very picky about his food. However, he is eating this mixed with a small amount of canned food at each meal. Very pleased with this product an will continue to purchase Wysong Senior dry food.

  • Dog won't eat it

I bought this for my 14 y/o blind Pekingese. She refused to eat it. I had done a lot of research and it got great reviews but she just wouldn't eat it. I think she's just being picky because she elderly.

Had to search for a food for our Bichon after he had a bout with mild pancreatitis. His appetite has been great and no return of problems while on this product. Highly recommend.

  • Dogs like it but they expect canned food

    By on

A little too "rich" for some of my dogs. I use a different kibble as the main food but use this as an occasional add in for variety. Sometimes, my super picky dog will eat it plain.

  • Good kibble

My senior small breed does well on this food, I soak it in water overnight in the fridg prior to serving, adding a bite of cooked chicken or lean meat doesn't hurt either :) and a dash more water, some dogs don't drink enough H20
