Makes cats unbearably smelly - It smelt like a dead rat for 6 months

We have 6 cats and all 6 cats had a very distinctive smell after feeding this food. one cat developed a liver issue from this food. I would not recommend this food

We have 6 cats and all 6 cats had a very distinctive smell after feeding this food. one cat developed a liver issue from this food. I would not recommend this food as the sheep plasma in it was a disaster for all 6 cats. We tried it for 6 months and it was very unpleasant. We kept bathing cats thinking they weren't grooming themselves or were rolling the litter tray etc.

All the furbies love it! My 3 cats (former feral, rescue and the lover who just showed up at the door) are on a strict carnivore diet that I make myself under my veterinarian's guidance. I like to keep on hand a shelf stable/canned wet food in case of emergencies and to add to their regular diet for variety. Needless to say, ingredients guide my choices and this product meets my needs completely, adding items that I'm not able to easily source. The price point is right in the middle of comparable quality brands. I'm very happy to have found Zealandia and make it a part of the regular rotation.

I’ve been trying for a month to feed this to my cats. Heidi smells it from a foot away and walks away. I thought if she were hungry, she’d at least try it. But the smell offended her so much she chose to eat holes in my clothes and bedding instead. Pippa tried to eat it, but threw up every time. I ordered two different cases, two different flavors. Same response from both cats. Not a success.

i’m really surprised at the mixed ratings for this food. Both of my girls have allergies that cause ulcers on their lips and redness around their mouths, so had to research food that only has certain ingredients and doesn’t have a lot of fillers or grains or certain proteins to which one or both are allergic. This food, despite its somewhat high price, checks all the boxes, and slowly slowly their ulcers are resolving. my little piggy asks for food all the time, as soon as her sister hears that I’ve opened a can and put food in the dishes, she also comes running. they are just slightly over nine and ten pounds, respectively, and we go through 3 to 4 cans per day.

I have two cats - one who will eat anything and is not picky, and the other is a little pickier. When I first introduced this food, my pickier cat was unsure and it took a little bit of time to get her to start eating this without hesitation, but then she seemed to enjoy it. My not-so-picky guy, he loved this right away (I had to keep shooing him away from our other cat's dish because he kept trying to devour her's). I like how this food seems really high-quality. I would absolutely keep feeding this to my cats if they both loved it equally.

I have seven cats, a perfect score is when all the cats eat the food and not just lick the food. Out of the seven cats, one does not eat with food at all. The six cats that did have the food, the reception was very mixed. Two lick the food and walked away, one ate half of his serving, the last two ate their serving completely. I love that the ingredients were natural and that they were organs in the ingredients. I’m going to try another can in a couple of days so they do not grow tired of having it. It may not be the first can I would go to, but that does not mean that it would not be part of my monthly feeding routine.

All three of our cats from age 1 to 10.6 yrs ate this canned food without any problems. The food was a pate with minimal water so it was rather stiff in texture

I added water to it a few times to give it better texture. The cats ate it both ways but by the 5th feeding they seemed to be bored with the taste.

Gave my Cat gastroenterocolitis!!

I really wanted for this food to work out, but after just a week on it, my cats had to go to the hospital for throwing up and constipation. Ultrasound revealed gastroenterocolitis

I really wanted for this food to work out, but after just a week on it, my cats had to go to the hospital for throwing up and constipation. Ultrasound revealed gastroenterocolitis and stool sample came back positive for toxins related to digestion of spoiled meats. I wouldn't wish for anyone and their cats to have to go through such a horrible situation, so please beware. Hopfully chewy can get in contact with this supplier to fix this
