FAQ

Zenrelia (ilunocitinib tablets)

Zenrelia is a prescription medication that relieves itching in dogs due to allergic dermatitis and helps control atopic dermatitis. The active ingredient, ilunocitinib, reduces the inflammatory response in your dog's skin caused by allergies, making your dog feel less itchy.

Once-daily Tablet

Zenrelia comes in an oral tablet that’s given once a day with or without food. It's easy to fit into your dog's daily routine. Always follow your veterinarian’s instructions.

Prescription Only

Zenrelia is a prescription itch relief medication for dogs at least 12 months of age. Ask your veterinarian if Zenrelia can help get your dog back to normal itching levels. They will evaluate your dog’s symptoms and determine the right tablet.

Dogs should not take Zenrelia for a time period before and after vaccination. Discuss your dog’s vaccine schedule with your veterinarian.

Signs of Allergic Dermatitis in Dogs

The most common sign of allergic dermatitis is excessive itching. Your dog might also bite or lick the itchy skin. Although symptoms might start as mild, they can progress to conditions such as hair loss and skin infection.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

See package insert including the Boxed Warning. For full prescribing information speak with your veterinarian, call 1 888 545 5973 or visit www.elancolabels.com/us/zenrelia.

WARNING: VACCINE-INDUCED DISEASE AND INADEQUATE IMMUNE RESPONSE TO VACCINES. Based on results of the vaccine response study, dogs receiving Zenrelia are at risk of fatal vaccine-induced disease from modified live virus vaccines and inadequate immune response to any vaccine. Discontinue Zenrelia for at least 28 days to 3 months prior to vaccination and withhold Zenrelia for at least 28 days after vaccination. Dogs should be up to date on vaccinations prior to starting Zenrelia. Do not use in dogs less than 12 months old or dogs with a serious infection. Dogs should be monitored for the development of infections because Zenrelia may increase the chances of developing an infection. Neoplastic conditions (benign and malignant) were observed during clinical studies. The most common side effects were vomiting, diarrhea and tiredness. Zenrelia has not been tested in dogs used for breeding, pregnant, or lactating dogs and has not been evaluated in combination with glucocorticoids, cyclosporine, or other immune suppressive drugs.

Y'all have the nicest phone reps :) This new Rx for itching has made a huge difference for Blue - paw licking & tummy so red - just awful. Benedryl helped for a while but doping my dog multiple times a day was not ok. Vet suggested still giving it 2x a day (2 each dose) but I am not doing that - the Zenrelia is working for my 100 lb baby & doesn't knock him out all day. The Rx I was given said to give 2x a day but 1x has been working for Blue. Hopefully, for other dogs too - it's $$$ if given 2x daily.

My dog is a white american bully that seems to be allergic to the air even, he was on apoquel for atleast 5 years, it worked wonders until he started becoming immune to it, im not going monthly and spending 100 plus on a shot so he tried this. It works like apoquel once did but it does where off fast if a dose is missed and every allergy medicine needs your dogs liver monitored so you need to decide which is a worse problem. My boys allergies were so bad we thought he was gonna ripped himself apart. So medicine it is. Hes now almost 10 and has not had an adverse lasting problems.

I do not recommend this product. My dog has been on it, and it worked great however, when my dog had bloodwork completed, her liver enzymes where through the roof. Along with her hemoglobin and all other tests. If I had not had her labs checked, who knows what this medication would have done. Since I have taken her off, now her numbers in the bloodwork are significantly decreasing where it should be.

We have a Frenchie and have spent the last two years battling his allergies, shots, apoqel, allergy testing, food sensitivity test, all natural limited food diets, mediated baths etc. Finally after all the trails and errors we found a dermatologist close to us. After she did her first round of treatment and no improvement she finally prescribed Zenrella. Our Bubba is now itch free and his skin looks amazing. We are sticking to his Stella freeze dried fish blend diet, and still do a medicated bath once every two weeks now.

My poor girl is a gsd who has suffered from allergies since she was 2. She’s allergic to most proteins, grass, dust, human skin cells, you name it she’s probably allergic. We tried every single medication from steroids, cytopoint, apoquil, allergy testing and shots, special foods, and then our last resort (or so i thought) atopica which for a 80lb dog was upwards of 460$ A MONTH and after time that stopped working. Finally my vet told me about this medication, the black box warning kinda freaked me out but after some research we decided to try it. And it’s been a MIRACLE DRUG. My girl went from itching and licking 80% of the time she was awake to minor itching a couple times a day max. She went from being miserable and seemingly acting like her age, to a 9 year old with the energy and zoomies of a puppy. If your pup is struggling like mine was I can’t recommend this enough, thank you for giving my girl her spark back!

My 14-year-old pitbull mix has struggled with allergies his entire life! In his younger years, Apoquel and Cytopoint worked sparingly. We changed his food several times, gave him supplements, utilize multiple powders and shampoos, but he still suffered from outbreaks. This by far is the best medication that has worked well to control his itchy yeasty skin!

My Vett recommended this product because my 15 year-old Yorkie was getting a Cytopoint shot every month and it was not working after 2 1/2 weeks. My poor dog was itching and scratching her whole body and most of hair was coming off from scratching. But this was like magic. No itching and scratching, and because my dog is older, I want her to be able to live out her last years and peace.

My 14 year old dog has had serious problems with allergies since he was 2. I've tried everything on the market to help him especially when the outbreak is really bad and he's just going nuts with scratching and shaking his head so when my new vet suggested Zenrelia I figured what do I have to lose and got it. It's been a life changer for my little man, when he starts shaking his head because his allergies affect his ears and go on to infections, I give him one of these and within 20 mins. he's sleeping by my side. I'm so happy to finally find something that helps.

Solomon developed this allergy, and the Vet was quick to remedy the situation by recommending Zenrelia and wanted him to stay on a maintenance dose, so I decided to autoship. Zenrelia really stops the scratching and biting almost immediately. I was very pleased that his suffering stopped.
