Can this be used to hang lamp inside terrarium, hanging from the screen cover?

It's not recommended to place lamps inside terrariums or enclosures. This product is intended to securely attach the lamp to your screen cover.

will this work with a wire cage styled holder?

Simple & Effective Safety

At the recommendation of our vet, I added an additional lamp to my reptile's enclosure to give a wider range of the light spectrum. The lamps sit on a metal screen

At the recommendation of our vet, I added an additional lamp to my reptile's enclosure to give a wider range of the light spectrum. The lamps sit on a metal screen over the top of the enclosure, and this ring thing is the absolute perfect item for making sure those lamps stay in place and do not burn anyone (or burn my house down). I have a similar ring that has held my larger lamp in place for nearly a decade. It is easy to remove and reattach for cleaning, light bulb changes, etc. and it otherwise just does its job and you never have to think about it again.

Prevents fires

I have 6 cats and they go where they shouldn't. They recently got on top of an enclosure and managed to shove the dome over, but the springs kept it from falling

A must have

This is a must have if you have exotics and cats. My orange cat loves to jump up on the terrariums but this stops him from being able to and I don’t have to worry

I wish I had known about this device before. I currently use washers and screws to create a barrier for my heat lamps to keep them from sliding, but that does not

I wish I had known about this device before. I currently use washers and screws to create a barrier for my heat lamps to keep them from sliding, but that does not help the tip risk. I put these on my 3.5" (nano), 5.5" (mini) and 8.5" (standard) lamps and they keep the lamps very secure!! The clips are small enough to fit most meshes (they fit my Thrive, EcoFlex, ReptiZoo and Toxirium terrarium mesh). The photo shows a black clamp with silver springs, but the ones I received included black springs as well so it all blends in with the lamp!

Worked perfectly

I got two of these for a regular sized lamp and a deep dome lamp. They fit both perfectly! It's much safer now too. Simple solution to keeping lamps secure on screen
