Top Quality Choice for My Dog
After doing research, I decided to buy this dog food. Mainly attracted by the fact that it has no added hormones. It's great to feed my pet with something I know is healthy and safe. Highly recommended!
No concern for the animals eating this product!
I am disgusted with Ziwi at this point. Many vets recommend this brand due to the limited, but high quality ingredients. Both of my dogs are very sensitive and have thrived on Ziwi (my Goldendoodle on the canned lamb and tripe, and my little mutt on the canned beef), even eliminating some food allergies, as the limited ingredients in the food has allowed their guts to heal. A while back it became difficult to get the lamb and tripe and I was told that was due to them no longer making it, but not notifying us of this as they did not want to cause "panic buying". NO consideration for those who have this food as an absolute last resort. Luckily the Goldendoodle's stomach has healed enough that we were able to switch to Zignature (and have actually noticed his coat becoming even healthier and even fewer allergies and stomach issues since the switch). Unfortunately since then they have also changed the ingredients in the beef canned food (again with no notice), saying that the change is minimal enough that dogs won't need to be titrated. WRONG! Despite carefully titrating my poor mutt, she has been sick to her stomach and experiencing increased pain in general since this "negligible change", and the owner of a well known holistic dog food store in my area has heard this complaint many times from dog owners since this change, but stated that their Ziwi rep denies that they have personally had any reports of dogs not doing well on the new formula. We are doing everything we can to figure out how to fully get our dogs off of Ziwi, as they can no longer be trusted and I am not willing to sacrifice my dog's wellbeing when they choose to change ingredients or eliminate a food again.
MY dog doesn't like it.
I want to try it out but you have to buy 12 cans to try. I was confident because it's wet food and I think it was worth buying this much. But it turned out that my dog immediately turned its head away when he smells it. And why can the beef can smell like fish?

we found out there are so many white molds in the can
The expiry date of this can is 2024. We bought two boxes. For the past week, my dog has not been eating properly and has had difficulty walking while we were outside. Waling was also strange. After investigating the cause, it was discovered that there was mold inside this can. I opened 4 more cans randomly and found out that many white molds had grown in them. We kept it in a cool pantry and made sure it was mold created when it was first made. I will never buy this product again and will do something if my dog gets more sick.
Questionable
I’ve been feeding this food for a while now for my 1 year old pup and my 9 year old little shihpoos, i’m just questioning the chickpea content. I know there has been reviews about chickpeas leading to DCM starting to get a bit nervous about feeding this
Smaller cans
This is my favorite of ziwi's canned dog food but it takes so long for her to eat the whole can because I only use it for morning feed. I wish the small cans were available again.
Might be too tasty.
The dogs like it. The smell is a bit overwhelming for me but that is because it has so much meat in it I think. However I have noticed that my toy dogs burp or toss some of it after eating sometimes. Might just be too rich for their tummies although they've always eaten raw fresh food. Love the other Ziwi Peak foods and will continue with the air-dried menus. Had to buy in bulk so may give it to local SPCA if my dogs continue to have a small problem with it.
Great food
We need to fatten up our active pooch. Mixing a third of a can with his crunchy nuggets seems to be working. The pooch loves it
Ziwi canned beef
The beef flavor is the favorite of the Ziwi flavors for my girls. They like the rest, but this gets eaten fastest.
