How long can this be left out in a bowl?

Answer by ChewyApr 22, 2024
If you choose to leave food in your pet’s bowl, be aware it may be exposed to bacteria and could spoil or become stale the longer it’s left out. We recommend you dispose of any uneaten food in your pet’s bowl if it’s been out for more than a few hours.

Is this non-GMO?

Answer by ChewyJun 23, 2025
According to this manufacturer, "all ZIWI recipes are GMO-free. New Zealand is a GM-free country, i.e., current regulations do not permit the importation of any GMO material; see below: - No GM seeds or nursery stock can enter NZ. - It is illegal to import GM (genetically modified) seeds and nursery stock into New Zealand without approval from the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). Consignments of specific seed and nursery stock species must be tested for the presence of genetically modified seeds at an approved laboratory before being imported. If the import health standard (IHS) says the species must be tested, then this needs to be done before any imported seeds or nursery stock arrive in New Zealand, and the testing certification must accompany the consignment."

Our dog is a 6 year old cockapoo and he’s a picky little eater. We wanted to try a higher quality dog food because he’s getting a little older and we just love him so much! We first tried the Ziwi beef recipe (no pumpkin), he liked that OK, but it gave him constipation and we ended up having to give him canned pumpkin along the food to help with this. Then I saw that there’s a beef with pumpkin and it’s even a little cheaper than the plain beef version. Our seems to like the taste of this one better as well - so it’s a win/win! It’s pricey but we think it’s worth the money. Would definitely recommend for picky eaters.

Not sure what happened

I used to buy Ziwi and it was a different formula/texture, and my dogs tolerated it well. I tried this one, and both dogs barely would eat it, both vomited and one started vomiting blood. They were not eating anything else or had gotten into anything. I stopped feeding it for a week, and tried again, and more vomit. I would like to believe this is still a high quality food, but it did not work for my 2 dogs.

Good ingredients

Feeding a small portion in the morning. I think it curbs her appetite until the evening feeding. Will buy more.

My dog loves this food but watch the size

My picky eater absolutely wolfed down this food. Im happy because of the quality ingredients. My only problem was how the size is listed. My fault for not noticing,

My picky eater absolutely wolfed down this food. Im happy because of the quality ingredients. My only problem was how the size is listed. My fault for not noticing, but the bags are listed in ounces and not pounds like every other food I've ordered. I was pretty surprised when a 3 pound bag showed up and I thought I had ordered a 50 pound bag.

She Likes It

My dog eats it without hesitation and additives ie cheese, whipped cream, etc.; it’s expensive but she is so worth it.
