How much bedding do I have to use for my 10 gallon terrarium??

To determine how much bedding is needed would depend on the thickness that is being set up for the terrarium. This bedding is recommended to have a minimum 2-inch depth. With very large, heavy snakes, you may need up to 4-inch depth. For a 2-inch thick bedding, it's recommended to have 2 pounds of substrate per gallon of tank.

Is this good substrate for a corn snake?

Corn snakes can be housed on Zoo Med’s Aspen Snake Bedding, Forest Floor cypress mulch, or ReptiBark. We recommend a substrate layer of 2-3 inches in depth. Provide moistened New Zealand Sphagnum Moss in a Repti Shelter to create a humidity chamber. This chamber will help your snake loosen its skin before it sheds. Zoo Med’s Eco Carpet can be used as a safe, environmentally friendly, and easy-to-clean substrate.

An absurd amount of dusk

I just got the aspen this morning for my Dumeril boa. I got it because aspen doesn’t hold humidity and it’s easy to burrow in. However, like any other brand, aspen

I just got the aspen this morning for my Dumeril boa. I got it because aspen doesn’t hold humidity and it’s easy to burrow in. However, like any other brand, aspen has a bunch of dust. This package had an unreasonable amount. I stirred around in the terrarium for a while, then did the same thing with a moist rag, then stirred more with a vacuum hose to capture the dust particles in the air. After almost 2 hours of this there was no visible improvement. So my last resort is soaking them multiple times in pillow cases to get all the particles out of the aspen. As you can see it was very much needed. IF YOU DO THIS, make sure to bone dry the aspen before putting it back into your terrarium! This is not my first rodeo for I have had snakes since I was a little kid.

I have a 17-year-old albino corn snake and this is by far his favorite bedding. I’ve tried several other brands over the years, but none seem to compare to this one. The texture is soft and clean, and it holds up well over time. I do a full bedding change every three months, and this brand stays fresh without any odor issues or clumping. My snake moves through it comfortably and seems more active when this bedding is down. It’s the only brand I’ll buy now and I highly recommend it to any snake owner looking for reliable, high-quality substrate.
