Description

Make leash training a walk in the park with the 2 Hounds Design Freedom No Pull Dog Harness and Leash. The patented design works by discouraging what’s known as the “opposition reflex,” which is the reflex that encourages dogs to pull against pressure caused by traditional harnesses. Instead, this leash features an action loop at the back between the shoulders, enabling your dog to walk in a straight line without twisting or straining. A structural ring on the front of the chest offers a second control point, allowing you to “steer” your dog and redirect his attention—which comes in handy when a squirrel crosses your path! Easy to fit and easy to use, it all connects with the included double connection leash.

Key Benefits

  • Included double connection training leash provides two points of contact with your dog, allowing you to steer your dog from the front connection.
  • Patented design reduces twisting, straining, and pulling, providing a more enjoyable experience for you and your dog.
  • Improves communication and training while out for a walk, and helps to redirect your dog’s attention.
  • Stainless steel hardware and heavy-duty nylon with Swiss velvet lining behind front legs to prevent rubbing and chafing. Good for dogs of all weights.
  • Made in the USA with four points of adjustability to fit any dog body shape or type.

  • Leash-Reactive Dog Approved!

    By on

I purchased this harness shortly after adopting my dog and quickly after learning he was both leash reactive and had no clue how to walk on a leash! Although he still pulls, I mainly bought it as a tool to keep him from slipping out and running towards or away from what he's reacting towards (mainly other dogs). For that, this harness is fantastic and even in the worst scenarios he has failed to slip out of it. The martingale-style of the back clip is really useful and definitely makes me feel more comfortable that the harness keeps him pain-free and happy. The harness lessened his pulling, but definitely didn't erase every sign of it. The harness lessened his pulling, but definitely didn't erase every sign of it. I also no longer use the leash that came with the harness because my hands would actually blister from the material the leash is made of and instead bought a leash with padding and a traffic handle which I love! While I don't think this is the solve-all to pulling in my case, I do see how it can work with dogs that only have a problem with some minor pulling. I think the main reason it hasn't helped more is because the sizing is a little difficult to nail on the head. Six months later I'm still trying to perfect it on his awkward pittie body! The harness itself is a very bold and solid color, and the velvet padding is especially awesome at protecting his skin when he has heavy pulling moments. He never shows any signs of discomfort towards the harness, but actually lights up when he catches sight of it even though I did almost no conditioning to get him used to it. He sits patiently for the 5 seconds (literally) it takes me to clip it on and off we go! The harness has withstood dozens of trails and wilderness, as well as happy rolls in the grass. Although I haven't washed it since I bought it, the color is still just as vibrant and the harness shows absolutely no sign of wear-and-tear. If debating on purchasing the harness, I do 100% recommend it purely for its durability and reliability. It has yet to fail me and if this one does happen to wear down my money will probably end up with this company again! … more

  • Helps Against Pulling Once You Fit it Properly

    By on

My puppy is quite the puller. I ordered this harness after a martingale had no effect on her and I want to avoid choke chains. Attaching her leash to the front ring has significantly improved our walking experience. Don't expect this to eradicate all pulling, but expect it to go down by a lot. The only issue I have with this harness is how difficult it is to find the right fit. The instruction manual only shows how to attach it, but not how it should fit on your dog. Unfortunately, I made it too tight for her at first and she was very uncomfortable. If you are having trouble, you can email 2 Hounds Design with a picture of your dog in the harness for advice on how to fit it. I did this and My puppy is quite the puller. • Good Harness for Small to Medium sized dogs

    By on

Bought this harness because it was recommended by our dog trainer at the time. Originally, it was used on our German Shepard, it did stop the intensity of her pulling but as her grew to her current 92lbs, it didn't help anymore. Now that she grew out of the harness it was passed down to her husky sister. Husky is 50lbs and it works on her. It is a great leash training tool for a puppy/young dog. It might work for a large dog that just needs guidance on leash training and isn't an intense puller.

  • 2Hounds Freedom No pull dog harness

The best harness that I've found for my 18 month old Australian Shepherd. The dog trainers tried different training collars, the pronged collar(had to try it)they discourage harnesses for training your dog to walk on the leash. But when you have a dedicated puller like an Aussie you use whatever tricks you can pull out of your hat!! My Aussie is extremely smart it didn't take her very long to figure out how this harness works either but with dedication , perseverance and reward it still works for us. Love our 2 Hounds Freedom Harness!!

  • Keeps her walking well!

    By on

This harness, like many, I understand, is a little tricky to put on. Once you get it, though, it seems to work really well. I am trying to keep it loose because it seems that it could rub against her legs, and she itches it now and then. However, we keep it on her all the time. She sleeps in it and doesn't seem to have any problem with it. It is amazing how it keeps her (gently) from pulling. I love it. We have an Australian Shepherd puppy, 30 pounds, so not a huge dog. I have the small size and might move into a medium soon. Would absolutely purchase this brand in the larger size.

  • Great Harness for my Heeler Mix and Mastiff/Catahoula Puppy

I researched a lot of Harnesses before choosing 2 Hounds Design. This harness is recommended by several trainers on Youtube and their company seems to really care about the quality of their product. They are also made in the U.S. which is awesome! I love the design of the Harness, which slips over your dogs head first and then simply buckles on both sides. I've used other harnesses which are confusing telling which side is up every time... not this harness! I also love that you don't have to lift your dogs feet to fit the straps around your dogs torso, another struggle I've had with other harnesses. The bottom strap is a durable yet soft velvet material, which makes cuddling and lounging still an option. And last but not least, the leash attachment on the front and back is absolutely great and I wouldn't want to have a harness any other way. The harness comes with the leash that attaches to both loops, front and back. This is for training purposes, but honestly, attaching your regular leash to the front, deters pulling quite a bit on it's own, and you then have the option to use the 2 hounds training leash, or using your own leash and attaching it however you want! The training leash is a nice feature, but if it's not working for you and your dog, try attaching a regular leash to the front loop. I highly recommend the 2 Hounds Design Harness! … more

  • Double protection for large dogs

    By on

I worry about my Great Pyrenees seeing a cat or squirrel before I do and might drag me off to chase it. I really like that this has two places to hook the leash, and the leash is short enough to train the dog to walk beside you. So far I've anticipated the cat, and have just told her "no" and she's listened to me. I feel more secure with this halter, maybe I don't need it, but this 100 lb dog could do what she wanted and I'd have no control.

  • Great harness for my beast of a pull-machine dog!

    By on

Truman, while a lovely snugglebean, is a horrible walker. He pulls so friggin' hard, trying his darndest to get nowhere as quickly as possible. He ruined a fancy harness that I got from the local pet store in about two weeks. This one stays put, doesn't leave any rub marks/signs of discomfort, and makes it easy to "pull back" which has been helping train him to walk nicer. Extra awesome features include it's ability to clip to the front, or on the back; the ability of the leash to be clipped on both ends (so you can make a loop or let it hang for a longer leash); and that loop feature has also exponentially increased the quality of our car rides with Truman.... it loops over the head rest in Truman, while a lovely snugglebean, is a horrible walker. I have had several people ask me what kind of harness it is while we are on walks, because they too have a pull-machine dog and can see how much better it works than many others. Highly recommend! … more

  • Disappointed here as well

    By on

I was hoping this pricey harness would somehow be an improvement over the petsafe easy-walk harness. The easy walk harness doesn't allow our dog to pull but she sort of walks in circles a bit. This one, I thought, may give us greater control while still not allowing her to pull. But this is more or less about the same, and in our case, we found the easy-walk harness to be a better fit for us and thought she actually pulls less with the easy-walk. It is also almost twice as expensive as the easy walk, and do not think it is worth it in my opinion.

  • Best harness there is!

    By on

Absolutely love this harness! From the under arm comfort of velvet, the the double clipped leash, and the control or the connection on the front and the martingale type connection on the back, there is no better harness! 100% would recommend this to any dog owner, and I have!
