If the other cats lick the treated cats ears will it poison them?

Answer by ChewyFeb 11, 2021
When adding chemical-based treatments for care, follow the label’s instructions carefully and contact your vet with any questions. Prevent your pet from licking itself for 24 hours. Some pets may drool upon tasting the treatment on their coat. This may occur with alcohol- or water-based products. This response is generally self-limiting.

The gunk that came out was horrible!! Poor kitty!

Mavis is an indoor very long hair cat! About 3 weeks ago she was scratching a lot in her left ear, I hadn't gotten her nails cut yet and was very afraid of her cutting inside her ear and getting an infection. I thought it was just gonna be a 'little dirty'!!! But my lord it was horrible! I pretty much knew she had ear mites. I've always had cats so I knew what I saw! But even after using the medicated wipes in both ears then using the drops and massaging the base of her ears and then drying them out with a twisted clean tissue. I'm still getting a major amount of black from both ears and it's been well over a week of nightly cleaning and drops! I thought for sure the 7-10 days would be enough but she's still so uncomfortable! I'm thinking I'm now gonna have to spend a ton of money on a vet bill so they can tell me what I already know and sell me expensive medicated drops!!! The bottle said 7-10 days, but it didn't work. It says kills mites on contact but it hasn't so far. I did have her nails cut professionally at home a day after starting the drops. Also here is a picture of the wipes in using daily before the drops.

Very greasy

Although it was able to kill some mites, our girl needs something better. The formula is very greasy and even when you wipe the excess the cat still wears plenty

Although it was able to kill some mites, our girl needs something better. The formula is very greasy and even when you wipe the excess the cat still wears plenty and I don't think it's safe for them to ingest. Because they clean themselves, I'm not sure if it's safe for cats as stated.

No smell

Take this review with a wink and a smile. Two hated it. One loved it. Kenzie Kat and the mites hated it. I loved it. Giving ear drops to a rescue cat is not

Take this review with a wink and a smile. Two hated it. One loved it. Kenzie Kat and the mites hated it. I loved it. Giving ear drops to a rescue cat is not an easy thing. But I was able to give a couple of doses before I couldn't bring the bottle out without being avoided like a bad hair day. However, the doses I gave have made a huge improvement. I'll be ordering cat nip to go along with the next treatment! :)

It did the job it said it would. Every day my cat's ear is getting more clear. It will take 3 weeks to clear. Please do not stop before 3 weeks for best results

Did not work, maybe not vet grade?

Did not work, ears still itchy with dark debris. Will need to see if vent can prescribe something else. Would love to know if this differs from the usual vet grade
