This cat house is made well, sturdy, off the ground, escape door, insulated and heated. It checked off all the boxes. However, we have 3 outdoor cats that refuse to come inside our house. This is why we ordered this house.. I was hoping this would work for 1-2 of the cats. I tried putting food bowls inside, a piece of unwashed clothing, all the suggestions from friends. None of the cats will go in it, even during the snow or rain. It was a bit pricey and jumped up on price as the weather got colder. It was not hard to put together, easier with 2 people for sure. For the people who claimed in Reviews how this or that fell off, we had no issue what so ever. What i will say is you have to pay attention when screwing pieces together and make sure to hold pieces tight together with some pressure or you will have gaps and issues. Its not an issue with this house, its generally people not paying attention to detail.
Outdoor and TNR cats LOVE it

Instructions could use a bit of help, but excellent packing, labeling of parts AND inclusion of an extra screw of each type. However the first one went great. Our Second one has a defective part, cut at 15-25 degree angle instead of a true 90 degree angle. As it is, it is useless and it is the part needed to screw the lower roof hinge into AND to attach the cover for the hinge! And the vinyl flap was shipped kinked up and despite heat, blow dryer, etc, it will not lay flat and cover the door. Now I have to get a new part made, paint/stain it, pre-drill new holes and finish it. At its cost, someone should have done better quality control. I should get a credir and Chewy should from the manufacturer!

This cat house was pretty easy to assemble. I did it myself with no difficulty. The parts are marked with letters but NOT stickers. They are stamped in ink on the bottom of each piece, and not all clearly. Look hard. The materials are pretty sturdy. Mine all arrived in good condition and all pieces were there. Many people complained about the roof gravel making a mess. Before I took the roof pieces out of the box I shook and wiped the loose gravel off into the box which was later dumped outside. The hardest part for me was installing the insulation pads. They are very bulky. The velcro attachments are just stapled to the walls and pull off when readjusting the pads. I screwed the velcro to the walls with small screws. The heating pad isn't the best. It will probably keep a cat comfortable in low thirty degree weather but lower than that it will probably just keep them from freezing to death. Which is better than nothing. We won't need it often for warmth here. It is the end of Dec and still running AC. Still recommend. After assembling we put it outside for the stray cat that lives under our shed. We have put it in 3 different locations near her shed and she is not interested in it. Our neighbors cat went in it once. I think our stray just feels too confined. I even removed the plastic door flaps to make it feel more open. One problem with the house is the swinging trap door. The cat can exit the box through the door as it swings outward but it cannot enter. The insulated padding on the floor sits too high to allow the door to be pushed inward. I guess it's not a major issue as I would consider it an emergency exit anyway. Overall, I feel this is a good quality house with adequate room for two large cats. Now it is just a question of what your cats feel comfortable in.

I gave it 4 stars because I wish it was just a little bit warmer. Upstate NY can get very cold at times. It was easy to put together and it’s super cute! I put a can of wet food in it to encourage the strays to use it. I have it under a covered porch and it’s out of the elements. I don’t think it would hold up for very long if it was just sitting outside not covered. Definitely worth the money though

I am in the Midwest, where winter is already wet and cold. We've had 6 inches of snow and this house has stayed dry. The temp is lower than I thought. The mat is heated to around lukewarm. Which is actually great as I was concerned about how warm it might get. I actually ended up moving th strays I bought it for in, as they've been around since kittenhood. But, I do leave food around, so there are always strays around. There are at least 2 getting good use of this so far!

This was the worst of every house I bought from Chewy I have bought four insulated houses. First of all I would not trust the pad. Second the side came apart when I was almost done with it the nail stripped and I had to make a new hole. While screwing in the holes two areas cracked not worth the money and low quality very disappointed in this one if it would've been better madeI would've bought another one of these. I had it all put together except for a few parts and I was not about to take it apart. I was tired of putting these houses together and this was my last one.

This house has good intentions but with 0 degree temperatures it does not put out enough heat. My cats do not use it and prefer an older cat house that I have with a temperature gauge. I wish I had not spent the money. Save your money and buy a smaller house with temperature controlled heating pad.
Great heated cat house!
We have it on a covered porch but the mommy & daddy cats and three kittens love it! The kittens went in as soon as we put it out. Would recommend and would buy again

Sturdy!
I bought this for the outside strays. I live in a very cold and snowy area and this is plenty big enough. Was semi easy to put together and seems to be very sturdy
I bought this for the outside strays. I live in a very cold and snowy area and this is plenty big enough. Was semi easy to put together and seems to be very sturdy. It is going to be out in the weather so we will see how it fairs over the winter. So far none of the cats have entered it so I took off the door with the 3 clear plastic strips before it gets cold and blowing snow to see if that helps. Just an FYI, there is no off and on switch, you have to unplug it to turn it off so if you have a light switch that operates your outside outlet that would be ideal

I would have given five stars but there’s a part in the roof where it can leak. Between the two roofs, there’s a part that’s covered with a thing of plastic. We made a larger roof with a tarp to keep the house out of the elements. Other than that, great house.
