Where's my Standlee? No longer sold by Chewy, so making do with this. It's drier and yellower, and seems to have more stems, almost straw-like. Both are dusty, this much more so. Yes, I know it is sawn and the dust is really alfalfa sawdust and is edible, but I'm having to mist the flakes to keep it down. Horses would pick out the leaves first with Standlee, less so with this, but my horses seem to love the new brand. Maybe it's only me resisting change.
don't bother... its not very good

Dusty, falls apart, rather grey in appearance. Horse ate it but found a local supplier that is also a national supplier for much less and much higher quality. I expect more for such a price that was set on this.
Poor quality for the price

Slightly moldy smelling, powdery and had a large tock and candy wrapper garbage mixed in the bale.
Very dissatisfied considering the price- and no matter what the price I would feed this to cows rather than my horse.
Bag of dust
on Jul 15, 2020
What a shame and waste of money--my mare lhAo when I finally had the nerve to offer it to her--and she's STILL laughing.. Bag was ripped and the contents resembled a barrel of fine dirt, couldn't possibly determine a flake size portion, and I've fed plenty of compressed forage--quite probably the worst bag of dusty dirt I've had the displeasure of wasting my hard earned money on--all true.. And I'm not about to rinse soak or otherwise try to revive feed--shouldn't have to
AWFUL, not edible

I have been buying Standlee Alfalfa from Chewy until now, though not perfect it was perfect for our needs. This product looks like straw ! Most of it was yellow/tan. My rabbits would not touch it ! REALLY can't recommend this product.
The Best product ever!

Goats LOVE it!
on May 31, 2020
I buy this product 2-3 times a month because my goats DEVOUR it. I must admit it's appearance at first glance concerned me but the fact that my goats can't get enough keeps me as a customer.

This is fairly decent hay, however, it was quite dusty and rather fine leafed. It had lots of stiff stems as well. I had to soak it, which makes it hard for me to lift and carry around. I do use a large laundry basket to soak it in, works kind of like a strainer. That helps a bit.
Convenient delivery, re-useable bag, AND
The horses ate it UP.
Ametza alfalfa hay- great hay, shipping procedure not so great
on Jan 7, 2020
The hay was shipped directly in the Eco friendly bag its wrapped in. The seam was torn and taped with package tape. It needs to be packed in a sturdy Chewy box like the Standlee hay. The hay itself was very good. It is lots of alfalfa blooms mixed with the coarser hay. Not a pretty site, but the horses loved it and they did not have any digestive problems. I will order again if it is packed properly for shipping.
Nice Alfalfa hay

Arrived well packaged. Bale was very heavy. It felt like more than 50 pounds. Opened it, nice fresh alfalfa. Green, small flakes. Horses love it!!
