HI! I ordered over 50 hay bales to keep supply since I have 4 percherons (massive 18+ hand drafts) 4 andalusians (around the 16 hand range) 4 mini donkeys (30 inch range) and 2 Lusitanos (16 hands) So I have quite the equine animals, please do this trick i ALWAYS do and recommend, soak your hay. It lowers the sugar content and ALL of the dust. ITS STILL LIKE NORMAL MUNCHY HAY, JUST WETTER WITH A LOWER SUGAR AND DUST CONTENT. its alot of work so to speed it up I hang all the hay nets at once (since I have a washroom indoors) and fill up 12 hay nets then drop them in buckets and let them soak for a good 5 minute, by that time all my horses are indoors and ready to go, then I hang them all up and HI! Highly recommend!!! … more

Good product
By Lucy on Dec 29, 2020
Delivery was timely. Product is as advertised. Since horses are fed hay now due to winter I felt they would like something greener and better quality. This compressed hay fit the bill. It is good quality.

Not very good quality and bag had been ripped and taped back up
By ChristinaW on Nov 22, 2020
The bag had been ripped and taped back together with packaging tape. The hay itself is extremely dry with a large amount of "dust" but is ok otherwise. My horse and donkey eat it but I wouldn't purchase again given the bag had been opened before delivery and the amount of "dust" and condition of the hay itself.

Works for guinea pigs, too.
By Anne on Nov 2, 2020
I switched my herd to this from Oxbow, trying to make my budget work during COVID. The piggies still prefer Oxbow, when I mix a little in as a treat, but they are plenty happy to eat this, too.

Great for a chubby pony
By 0000 on Oct 26, 2020
I got this to try for my chubby 12h pony. I have also bought a ball I shove hay into. She loves this stuff. It is easy to put in the hay ball too. It is really compressed. I will buy it again and thinking I might not stock the loft this year.

I bought this for my guinea pigs and it’s just exactly what I wanted. The best part they like the hay.

Hay buying is excruciating
By Doodlesmom on Jun 12, 2020
The only good part about buying hay is having a full barn for winter .Finding it, loading it , paying for it , schlepping it home, unloading it,hoping every last bale is edible and no haggling with the hay seller is needed to replace the bad bale... it was by far my least favorite part of 30 years of farm life! Well imagine my surprise when , after selling my farm and moving to a neighborhood that I would be in need of hay for my two sweet goats whose new home didn’t work out in the end. Goats, despite popular belief are picky boogers. I imagined driving my tarp lined car all over the hills buying this hay and that hay for them to try to see what they might possibly eat through the winter. I had little luck with compressed , bagged, hay previously with my goats, but I needed something straight away as I girded my loins for my hay finding mission locally, so I ordered a bag of bermuda from you out of desperation. THEY ADORE IT! While my delivery man is displeased with the sheer weight of my Chewys order I am most pleased with having a ready, convenient, hay source with out tarps and miles of travel that my goats don’t turn their little noses up at. … more

Dusty but green not dark green but a light green
By TMB1 on Jun 9, 2020
Ordered two bales for my senior horse who is on a senior feed so it took him longer to eat and give him more satisfaction. Both bales were dusty though the color was nice and green. it was very tightly compressed. I believe it may have been a storage issue stored where there was too much moisture or close to the ground. Hay smelled nice and my horse loved it after I pulled it apart and put water on it to keep the dust down. Loved the handles on the bag made it easy for two people to carry the bag.

Ametza Premium Compressed Bermuda Hay- Very Good Hay
By CJohansen on Feb 23, 2020
Fresh and green, more like orchard hay. Price is competitive to the Three Letter Store that also sells wrapped compressed hay bales, and Chewy delivers to my door so I don't have to push a heavy shopping cart around a store without any employee assistance. This hay is Giant Bermuda species, very different and much more digestible than coastal Bermuda hay. This is chopped hay so my senior horses can chew easily. I put it in an empty feed bag for dispensing. And my horses love it.
