If I were to buy this now to have "just in case", would it still be good years from now, or does the bitterant have an expiration date?

Answer by ChewyJan 25, 2018
These bandages have a 3-year shelf life.

Can this bandage be used on open wounds? Thank you!

Answer by ChewyDec 26, 2018
This bandage is designed for use as a secondary dressing. the bandage may be placed over a gauze pad, so it is not in direct contact with an open wound.

Will it work on my dogs tail hit spot he keeps chewing it raw? He chews off every bandage.

Answer by ChewyJul 23, 2019
This tape is intended to help keep pets from chewing on traditional bandages or wounds. It is treated with a bitterant that’s safe for pets and people but is designed to leave an unpleasant taste in the mouth of pets.

My tortie chews on everything. Was worried when I first opened the chewy box because she was playing with it in the bag. I put it on the pins that hold my louvered blind because I keep them open to stop climbing. But she was chewing on the plastic holders. I wrapped them. She immediately chewed on it but only the first time! She has left them alone since. Success. I celebrate the small victories. Love her but she is a challenge. Smart and Sassy.

Does not prevent chewing

Used this on dog and it does NOT prevent chewing. He chewed off within 10 minutes of applying.

Accident prone kora.

I pick a middle rating because we haven’t had to use it yet. Kora has no fear and gets lots of scratches and broken nails. Bought this after we adopted her and learned

Very sticky. Very bad tasting.

This tape is thin, so the dog can't get a hold on it to pull it off. It's so sticky that it's difficult to get it off the roll, and you'll need scissors to remove

As soon as I turned my back, she started licking this wrap that was around her paw, and kept doing it after I yelled at her to stop 10 times. So, whatever bitter coating they put on this to deter licking/chewing does NOT work, at all. Seems she actually liked it. It still got two stars simply because it still works like a normal flex wrap and because it's a bright color so I can see quickly where it is if it came off.

Didn’t deter my cat and her paw swelled up!

My cat is a weird lady so I suppose I shouldn’t be too shocked that she was not phased by the bitter agent in this. If anything I think it intrigued and encouraged

My cat is a weird lady so I suppose I shouldn’t be too shocked that she was not phased by the bitter agent in this. If anything I think it intrigued and encouraged her. Unfortunately because of this she tugged at her wrapped leg until it pushed it down to her paw and bunched up cutting circulation off. We woke up to quite the scary sight of her paw more than triple its usual size! I would warn people to be very careful with wrapping your cat with anything, they are curious creatures and can get themselves in trouble!

Easy to use

Used this to keep dog from licking legs due to allergies She wasn’t too thrilled about it at first, but after she had it on, she messed with it on them and left

It does what it's supposed to do

So I got this bc I have a dog daycare & boarding business & dogs get scratched sometimes. For the most part ,this worked exactly how it's supposed to. I have one

So I got this bc I have a dog daycare & boarding business & dogs get scratched sometimes. For the most part ,this worked exactly how it's supposed to. I have one dog that it does not phase one bit, for the others, it works perfectly. My girls, Athena & Leia have at one time or another gotten super dry & cracked paw pads, so I lather their feet with Mushers Secret, put socks on their feet & wrap them up & they won't touch their feet.
