Our dog broke bones in her foot and had to have a splint on for eight weeks. Medipaw made managing that eight week period possible. Keeping the splint covered and dry and protected going outside was critical and Medipaw did the job perfectly. The boot goes on easy, stays on, is very durable and my dog had absolutely no issues with it. If your dog needs to keep their cast/splint protected this product is top notch.
My Golden broke her little toe and this boot has been a life saver. We have had a lot of snow and I don't have to worry about her getting her split wet when so go out to take care of business. I find the velcro straps to be very stretchy and easy to tighten and loosen. I don't get the bad reviews on this boot. My 75 lb Golden gets around good outside with it on and it doesn't allow her to slip on the ice or snow.
Our German Shepherd, Greer, has had an open wound on his rear leg for a few months. We are doing wound care daily. We needed a boot that would cover the entire leg and this boot is the one!!! We did a lot of searching online. We tried a couple other's. This boot is the only one that meets our dog's needs.
This has been a huge help keeping my 92lbs puppy’s split clean and dry. Especially since he loves to lay around outside, and it has been rainy these last few days. It has also helped him with traction indoors on our hard floors and stairs. My only complaint is the material is thin, and he has chewed a few holes in it. My fault, I should have been watching him more closely. Great product!
After leg surgery the vet sent my dog home with an IV bag tied with gauze to protect her bandage from getting wet outside. My dog really hated that makeshift bootie. This Medipaw was a lifesaver for going out for potty breaks, was easier for her to walk in and kept her leg perfectly dry. The paw/boot part was a little large but the length was perfect. No problem staying secure with the velcro and cinch top, assuming my dog's leg was bandaged. Tried it after her bandage wrap was removed and it did slip down, but at that point didn't really need it anymore. Excellent protection from rainy weather outside, just know it works best over a bandage.
purchased a second boot and this one has a hard base like a shoe vs soft waterproof base, this one is not as good in my option, dog has harder time walking in it..going to reach out and try to exchange for correct one.
I got the rugged version for my husky/lab to cover a cast on a broken leg. It was great at first, it has amazing traction, stayed on great. It was perfect for snow and ice and tile floor. Now the bad... The lip portion of the actual hard rubber boot gets caught up on everything! This resulted in my dog breaking the split in his cast and injuring his leg even worse. So now he has to have surgery.
Our 80lb dog is not at all small, but the small is too big. The short is too short! And the xs2 is too small. Sizing is way off on this one and there is no Goldilocks boot for our pup.
My dog broke her toe, and I was struggling to keep her splint dry. But once we put the boot on, she was able to walk more comfortably and safe
I had a previous Medipaw regular sleeve that my pup wore out after 3 months, and with winter and snow on the way, I wanted a more rugged sleeve that would handle the snow & more slippery terrain. This new Medipaw product does the job!
