How many scoops in the container?

Answer by ChewyNov 20, 2021
This 8.5-ounce container (240 grams) contains approximately 60 scoops.

What is the phosphorus content of this supplement?

Answer by ChewyApr 12, 2023
Annamaet Enhance has negligible phosphorus. The phosphorus content comes from the meat and grains they are using in the diet which are devoid of calcium which is why they only provide calcium in Annamaet Enhance to help balance that out.

Will this lose any of the value of nutrients and vitamins if cooked into food?

Answer by ChewyOct 15, 2023
For best results, mix thoroughly with the dog’s meal after preparation. Do not heat.

Is the recommended amount of product for weight by day or by meal?

Answer by ChewyOct 07, 2025
The feeding directions on the label provide the daily amount.

Fatal Flaw of the Convenient vit/min pre-mix

My dogs are used to great variety but they won't touch any food that contains this powder. Even if I drop the dosage down by 4x none of them will eat this. Smart dogs as this powder smells like a chemical factory and is potent enough to turn any delicious smelling, premium meat based entree into a nauseating mess that goes into the garbage. Turns out that purified minerals and vitamins mixed together stink as Mother Nature never packages nutrition in this fashion. But, it is the case that all kibbles are sprayed with a premix and smell good to people and dogs and are readily eaten. Why you ask? Because kibble is also sprayed with a potent, well researched mix of artificial scents/flavors and flavor enhancing chemicals that mask the premix chemical smell. Without this toxic addition, the vit/min powder is hideous. Yes, there are a lot of dogs mentioned in the comments eating this stuff but I have to wonder what they were eating previously. Anyway, this is not the way to go for wholesome, whole food, natural nutrition. This powder becomes more pungent with time as the purified minerals and vitamins react with each other as they were never meant to be purified bedfellows in a plastic jar.

This formula is lower in phosphorus than other supplements for home cooked food which helped my elderly Sheltie live until age 15. Continuing to use it for my other adult dogs as preventative. Vet is excellent nutrition expert in NC - I trust her. Thanks Chewy for making it available.

Advice for pet owners of dogs with sensitive tummies

I have a dog with chronic ibs (irritable bowel syndrome) that at one time resulted in her being hospitalized. This has been on-going for 3 years with lifetime antibiotics, steroids, and prescription hydrolyzed food. This year, I began the journey of switching to a natural diet and started holistically treating the ibs. This began after my internal medicine vet told me there was no way she would get off the steroids. Within 2 months, I have weaned her off the prescription diet that contains over 20 different additives including synthetic soy protein. "Miraculously" her stools are finally normal and she is almost completely off the antibiotics (they are used as an anti-inflammatory). Taking her off the steroids will be another matter... But so far, she can now tolerate blueberries, bananas, spinach, kale, basmati rice, chicken bone broth, and chicken (all parts except the bones). Because I am now cooking for her I decided to get this supplement. If you made it this far...thank you. Here's my advice coming from someone who has lived with the vomit and diarrhea of an ibs dog: START SLOW. If the serving says one scoop, then you start with a 1/4 scoop. Then you wait 2 DAYS. If they are fine; no vomit or diarrhea go 1/2 a scoop and wait 2 DAYS. If they have soft stool, stick with the 1/2 scoop every 2 days for a week then increase to every other day, etc. START SLOW with everything new you introduce in your dog's diet. By the way, this powder does not taste bitter. I tried it myself. AND most importantly, as soon as you open it, put it in the freezer. Who cares if it's cold. It's powder. But it seems like this can go rancid. I wouldn't want to take a chance like that. Good luck in your pet's journey to better health. Hope this helps.

I got this to supplement the diet I have my elderly dog on, he initially refused to eat the meal, I continued to offer it thinking he just didn't like the smell. For the 4 days he did eat it, he vomited profusely. When I removed it from the mix he stopped vomiting. It's a great product but unfortunately it's not agreeing with my seniors usually cast-iron stomach. At 16 he's really not in the condition to be losing any calories I manage to get into him.

In making homemade dogfood, I was missing the minerals and vitamins that my dogs needed. One is diabetic and I started making their food myself. This product balanced the food and gave them what they needed for a healthy life. Glad I was told about this so I could make the best food for them that I could.
