Tried this for the pond next to the house which was disgusting looking with algae and sludge. Sprinkled around perimeter and every place it landed the pond became instantly clear. The hardest part was accessing the pond because it is at the bottom of a steep slope. Thought I would get some swim shoes to actually get into the water and distribute it next time. Now that it is clear it is again inhabited by the local ducks
I was hoping this product would make some kind of difference in my pond . It hasnt yet i added the whole can sbout 2 weeks ago
I applied product as directed and it has not cleared my pond out in the slightest
I had a big problem with algae in the pond I built for the wildlife. I get tons of raccoons, possums, & deer. Even with the algae they came every day to drink. Not so much after I put this in. After 2 treatments (3 days apart), the animals are now refusing to swim or drink in it. Cleared the pond up 75%, but if you've got anything drinking out of it look elsewhere. Now I'm going to have to drain it down to get rid of most of the water.
Product form states tablet which is what I wanted but this is powder. Decided to try it anyway and so far it is just floating on top of the water 2 days after I put it in.
I have a medium sized KOI pond with various numbers of fish. I have used POND-ZYME for years and will not use another product. It does the job.
I have had a pond for 12 years very hard to keep clear I figure I try this product one container to see if it works and I found that after two weeks it’s GREAT so order two more for stock
I use Pond-Zyme Sludge Destroyer in the Spring when the weather warms up. It helps to rid the pond of the gunk that builds up over the winter. The only drawback is that you will need to use it weekly until you have achieved the desired effect. I suppose some folks continue use. I stop once my pond is clear again.
I have a very large pond w/two waterfalls and an over population of over sized fish. I use this every time I clean the filter and it really breaks down the waste and helps keep the water clean. I have to use more than the directions suggest to get the necessary results. And I don't have to travel across town to a pet shop to get it.
Do not expect this product to clear the pond water by itself. If sprinkled on the water, it ends up in the filter eventually. It seems that sprinkling the powder in the cascade helps mixing with the water. It works better with an algaecide, but in summer, even with the enzymes and beneficial bacteria, UV light and copper ions, the sludge and algae can only be controlled. Still somewhat helpful.
