    Helps With Spring Start Up

By Lucinda on Apr 10, 2021

I use Pond-Zyme Sludge Destroyer in the Spring when the weather warms up. It helps to rid the pond of the gunk that builds up over the winter. The only drawback is that you will need to use it weekly until you have achieved the desired effect. I suppose some folks continue use. I stop once my pond is clear again.

    Dirty Water

By Koiqueen on Jul 19, 2020

I have a very large pond w/two waterfalls and an over population of over sized fish. I use this every time I clean the filter and it really breaks down the waste and helps keep the water clean. I have to use more than the directions suggest to get the necessary results. And I don't have to travel across town to a pet shop to get it.

    Better with other product

By Henriludo on Jun 21, 2020

Do not expect this product to clear the pond water by itself. If sprinkled on the water, it ends up in the filter eventually. It seems that sprinkling the powder in the cascade helps mixing with the water. It works better with an algaecide, but in summer, even with the enzymes and beneficial bacteria, UV light and copper ions, the sludge and algae can only be controlled. Still somewhat helpful.

At first I wasn't sure if it would work, but near the end of the first two weeks, the water was almost crystal clear!

    Do not use

By Nono on Mar 24, 2020

I used this product in my fish pond and 3 of my two year old fish died. I used less than the recommended amount. There were no other chemicals in the pond. This products is not safe for fish or the dead bullfrog that had lived in the pond. I emptied the 200 gallon pond. Hopefully my remaining fish will live. Not happy.

    Great product

By Sherri on Apr 26, 2019

Give this product a chance and it WILL work. I live in Ohio and my pond turned to nothing but sludge and algae toward the end of last summer. Nothing I did removed it. I have 8 goldfish in there and couldnt even see them. I dont like using chemicals so I decided to try this. I also used Tetra Pond Block for algae removal which IS a slight chemical. Together, i am seeing a huge difference in my pond. Its been 2 weeks but be patient. I now see my fish. These products will not work overnight as some claim. I initially started cleaning my filter pads 2x/day and now Im down to every other day. They will not work by themselves. You must devote some time to this no matter what but you are not draining Give this product a chance and it WILL work. My go to product.

By Pugtime on Jun 12, 2018

I have been using this product for the last three years in a 8500 gallon two pond system with waterfall connected by a creek. Previously I used multiple liquid, high cost products and still had problems with large mounts of string algae. I added aerators and started using only API Pond-Zyme only and my maintenance has decreased by at least 60%. I highly recommend.
