The AquaClear CycleGuard Power Filter is a versatile clip-on filter that uses a multi-stage filtration system to improve water quality. The CycleGuard system provides three types of filtration: mechanical, chemical and biological. In this unique system, only one component is changed at a time to protect the beneficial bacteria that’s usually thrown out with cartridge filtration systems. The AquaClear CycleGuard Power Filter comes with AquaClear Foam, Activated Carbon and BioMax filter inserts. As the water filters through, these inserts help preserve good bacteria, trap debris and remove impurities for a stress-free environment. The patented refiltration feature lets you control the flow rate for more delicate fish and plants.

I want to make sure this will fit my tank. So what is the space between the intake and the back? I am basically wondering how big the lip on the tank can be?
Answer by • Jul 21, 2019
The dimensions are arranged as depth (front to back) x width across x height from the bottom of filter (not including the length of the tube). The 20-gallon filter is 4.5 inches long, 7 inches wide and 6.5 inches tall. Size 30 dimensions are 4.5 x 8.2 x 6.7 inches. Size 50 dimensions are 4 x 9 x 8 inches. Size 70 dimensions are 6.2 x 10.7 x 8.6 inches. Size 110 dimensions are 7.1 x 13.9 x 9.1 inches. The part of the filter that overhangs, into the tank, is approximately 2 inches.
Is this filter good for betta fish?
Answer by • Dec 19, 2017
This product is suitable for Betta fish. The patented refiltration system allows you to control the flow rate without compromising filtration efficiency for more delicate fish and plants.
How long does the filter tube extend out to
Answer by • Feb 06, 2018

Would this be a great filter for my messy turtle
Answer by • Sep 03, 2018
The multi-stage filtration system helps maintain a healthy tank for both fresh and saltwater aquariums.
i’ve had this bad boy for about two years now, and let me tell you for the time being i rlly liked it!! however, this past time i went to turn it on after cleaning the tank it won’t turn on anymore. i’m not sure i would’ve bought this if i knew it would only have a couple years of a lifespan on it. honestly kinda disappointed, it makes sense to not replace a product someone bought a couple years ago but the fact that it stopped working all together and i can’t get a new one sent soon is leaving me in a tough spot for my beta fish.

Bought this for my 40 gallon breeder and it works great. I had the 50 model and since I’ve switched the water is clearer and nitrite and nitrate levels have stopped rising.

Understand and Know Your Enemy
Anyone who keeps fish probably knows HOB filters are a common enemy. I have gone through many brands and am quite pleased with the Aqua Clear. It was dead silent the first 3 days, but now has a quiet steady hum. It took a little effort to get it primed, but it has a lot of flow options. Overall I am very pleased and haven't had any issues with excessive noise or sputtering (yet). I am currently reviewing this around the two month mark.
