Easy setup, received it promptly. I did put some plants around the intake for the filter just to avoid my Betta from getting stuck to it. One of the other reviews mentioned that they lost one of their fish that way. But other than that, I’m enjoying it and so is my betta. Glad that I got the 5gal one.
I bought this tank because I eventually want to get a betta again, and currently have a mystery snail that needed more space. Tank was easy to set up and looks beautiful. The innovative water changing system makes changes a breeze. The only complication I had was that I have the tank on a narrow counter with a wall behind it. The tube that pumps water through the filter swivels to the back of the tank. I have no room in back to place a vessel behind the tank for water changes, but solved the problem by attaching a piece of aquarium tubing to it and voila, water change accomplished. The pump is super quiet and I like that you can easily see the condition of the filter by lifting the lid. I treated the water with API's water conditioner and Quick Start. Tested it one week after setup and all parameters were perfect! Eventually I'll get another fish, but for now my snail is happily cruising her spacious new home.
We needed a small tank to use for quarantining new fish and this one fits the bill, complete with filter and lighting system for a reasonable price. It does NOT come with a heater which will be a must-have in winter months. Not sure why it is called SmartClean (it came with no instructions) unless it is the ease of replacing the filter medium. However these little pads are not inexpensive, so not sure how smart that is. However, all things considered, with the addition of a heater, this could be a great little set-up for a child or beginning hobbyist with just enough room for a few guppies or other small fish.
This aquarium is so flimsy I don't think I trust it enough to put water in it. Spend a little more and get something decent.
I did a LOT of research before settling on this tank for my new betta Sriracha. It’s the perfect size and water changes are a breeze. The filter is super quiet and keeps the tank crystal clear. The price is great too! It’s perfect for a newbie fish owner like myself :)
Now I’m unsure on how well the filter is and all it’s specs but as long as you get the 5 gal it’s perfect for a beta wish it was longer then it is tall but for beta kits this is one of the best on here would not recommend the 2.5 to anyone as Betta need minimum of 5 gallons. ( not sure why the product description doesn’t match product ) anything can have a work around to make it beta friendly but as far as plug play products this is one of the best you can get.
I bought 5 gallon jugs of water and this tank only holds 4.
Just received this item and it’s missing the filter and cartridge.
Perfect! Works great for my Betta Blu. Upgraded him into a 5 gal tank from a 3 gal tank and this tank was perfect! Filter flow is slower than my 3 gal. So no concern w filter hurting fins. Love it. Recommend!
Tank is fine. Water pump broke after 2 weeks. Can’t find a way to replace.
