We have a 10-gallon tank with tropical freshwater fish. At first, we had no heater as it was summer and the water was staying at 76 degrees. As soon as fall came the temps started fluctuating, dipping down to 66 at night. As a kid I had fish and 2x they all died when the heater was accidentally adjusted. This heater has no settings to mess up. We attached it to the back wall corner , where, due to its compact size, it is rather unobtrusive to our underwater scene. We have a thermometer in the front opposite corner and now it always reads 78 degrees F. The red light shows when it is actively heating and goes off when it has reached 78. We have had it for a month and so far it has worked perfectlyWe have a 10-gallon tank with tropical freshwater fish. I have a 40 gallon tank and bought the 150 watt as a replacement. For some reason it is not heating my tank. I have read the instructions a few times and even googled this issue. I've given it several days with no luck to be had. My tank was at 66 degrees when I added a new heater and now it's at 75. I'll never buy this brand again

I prefer to keep the heater off in my apartment in the winter so it gets cold inside (around 60 degrees) I have 3 of these heaters for my 3 tanks and they fail to keep the water above 75, I haven’t tried using them in the summer but if you have your tanks in a cold environment I’d suggest getting a heater that is not preset.
Idk may need help. May need to replace or purchase upgrade

I got a bum heater the first time around but Chewy's excellent service came through again and they sent me a new one at no extra charge. This heater keeps my 3 gallon tank at a steady 73-75 degree temperature for my betta but does not get so hot that I worry about his safety. Very good product!

I have a 10 gallon with fancy guppies and some platys and when I first got it I loved it. It stayed at 78 and was great but that only lasted like maybe a week now is sits at 71 and I'm aiming for 80 so I'm looking for another heater might try the 100w.

It heats up water very fast, works very well...I had recently switched tanks form a 20 gallon to a 55gallon and took a risk and places that heater while the bigger one arrived and it heated the water and maintained it warm!

We have a 60 gallon tank and purchased 150 W heater, even though it’s fixed at 78°, because 60 gallon tank the water temperature stays about an average of 75° which is awesome for our Oscar fish, because she’s very happy

This heater is small and takes a good amount of time to heat 5 gallons of water, but it does the job! Does not over heat. Keeps my water between 75 and 76 which is perfect for tropical fish.
