Simple and fixed temperature (78 degrees) that's under $10.
It works so well on my 40 gallon tank! For sure one of the best purchases I ever made.
It’s keeping my turtle tank like 1-2° lower than 78 which is honestly just super inconvenient for a hatchling. The ambient temperature hasn’t changed either so I don’t know
This dangnabit heater worked initially. I followed instructions because I'm not a dingbat. Everything was good. Then all of a sudden it decided not to work after like 10 days. Very sad. Must now buy new heater different brand. Chewy is still number one though.
BEWARE, i didn't pay attention but this is a preset 200w heater. I would never by for fish. only needed for daphnia and plants, but with it not adjustable i will not use for them either Returning .
Does not work!! Waste of money! Arrived on time, but did not work at all.
This water heater keeps my 5 gallon tank at a perfect 78 for my betta fish. The red light turns on when heating and turns off when the cage is at 78. Everything it said it would be.
Don't buy this heater, it overheated and killed all my fish.
If adjustable I would have given higher marks, but in our 10 gallon and 5.5 gallon it works great! You need to consider ambient room temp when picking power for your heater, not only the watt size. This one was able to take 60 degree Fahrenheit room temp and convert to 74-78 easily. Have only had this heater for 6 weeks, so can’t comment on longevity yet. For larger tanks, buying multiple heaters instead of one big one protects against one big catastrophic failure.
I have had the heater for 3 months now and I noticed this morning that the water in my tank was in the 60s. I tried unplugging the heater and letting it sit for 10 minutes before plugging it back in. The heater would not turn on.
