What is the maximum amount of calcium and phosphorus? What's the ratio?

This formula has a Calcium content of 1.2% and a Phosphorus content of 1.0%. Products are tested to be 100% nutritionally complete and balanced for your pet's life stages. Although the manufacturer doesn't test for the maximum percentages, their ingredients are approved for use in pet foods by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO), the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and the Pet Food Industry Group (PFI).

How long would a bag stay good for? I’ve only got one puppy to feed.

Ideally a bag of opened food should be consumed within 6 weeks. If placed within an air tight container, it may extend the freshness of the food.

Can you freeze dry dog food to prolong the freshness? I only have one puppy.

An unopened bag of food will last until the expiration date stamped on the bag. Ideally, dry food and treats should be consumed within 6-8 weeks of opening the bag. Exposure to air, light, hot temperatures and humidity speeds up the rate at which foods degrade. To limit these effects, keep dry foods in their original packaging and store in a cool, dry location. It would also be possible to freeze some food, to extend the freshness.

We’d never heard of Black Gold Explorer Puppy before, but our breeder recommended it and now we’re so glad she did! Our Sheltie puppy, Blu, absolutely loves it and gobbles up every bite. His coat looks great, his energy is perfect, and he’s as happy as ever when it’s meal time. We’ll definitely be keeping him on it!

It wasnt untill I got my Border Collie Jasper, that I was introduced to the Black & Gold brand. The ingredients are decent enough to pass my test of seeing what my dog is eatting. Better yet, this pup loves it. When we brought him home we had tried Blue Buffalo and even Science Diet. He would eat it, but almost begrudgingly so. Finally I caved and got the Black & Gold puppy and as soon as I put the dish down, he was ON IT! Not only is it great for the pup version of him, but its made to be for all ages and stages. Which is even better because I won't have to worry or think about what I will need to get in the future.

My 50 pound german shephard mix was not excited about the food. Ate it very slow and usually she is a fast eater and likes to eat everything including my food, her sisters food and the cat food if she could. Definitely not a picky eater but this food didnt excite her at all. I switched her slowly but she still had super soft poop. I switched her back to her old food. Poop and appetite are good again. Gave it 3 stars because kibble size is small for a large breed dog, didnt work for my puppy but maybe someone else's.

Puppy was not a fan

This is what our breeder was feeding puppy, so we purchased for bringing him home. I thought he was just a grazer, but it turns out, it just didn't like this food!

This is what our breeder was feeding puppy, so we purchased for bringing him home. I thought he was just a grazer, but it turns out, it just didn't like this food! It would take him almost the entire day to get through 1/3 of a feeding. Switched to Royal Canin and he eats in first sitting! The vet also was not crazy about this food as it hasn't been backed by science.
