Ingredient Information

Feeding Instructions

Honest Research. Unbiased Data.

Research is grounded in trusted, peer-reviewed sources rather than in-house studies. Unique ingredients are supported by scientific research and included at meaningful levels when used in formulas.

100% Horse Safe

Standard safety protocols are not enough. Risky ingredients, such as ionophores, are never allowed on the property. Ingredients are sourced exclusively from partners who share the same safety standards, ensuring there is no risk of contamination.

Built on Trust

Every ingredient is clearly listed by its true name, and formulas are locked to ensure consistency in every bag. Operating as a single-mill facility allows for rapid innovation without compromising the safety and quality horses deserve.

A Personal Approach

Building strong connections matters. That’s why Bluebonnet invests in private nutrition consultations, co-hosts community education events, and shares tools that empower owners to make informed decisions for their animals long after the first interaction.

About Bluebonnet Feeds

Since the early 1980s, safety and integrity have been at the center of everything Bluebonnet does. Every formula is science-backed, developed by in-house PhD nutritionists, and supported by a world-class team dedicated to making advanced nutrition simple and effective.

My cushing horse didn't like this food. Other horses ate it though so maybe she us just extra picky.

What I’ve been looking for!

My 17 year old Rocky mare was purchased as a yearling. Straight away I knew something was wrong. Refused to move (not being stubborn) stiff gait stumbly. Back then none of the vets in my area had PSSM on any radar. Fast forward to the past 10 years and I had been on my own journey trying to figure her out. Up until a few years ago it was impossible to feed her commercial feed. Everything was loaded with starches and sugars. Even straight oats were too much starch. This feed has been a Godsend for me. She gobbles it up and I’ve been slowly increasing the amt to get her up to at least 6 cups a day (3 and 3) she has been a reliable mount inbetween her “bouts” but since on this feed, she walks around like she owns the place!

Horse Wouldn't Eat It

This feed has a VERY strong smell, and my horse refused to eat it. I could barely stand to smell it too.
