Let your pup discover an intense, satisfying treat with Bones & Chews Himalayan Cheese Large Dog Treats. This hard cheese snack comes from an ancient Himalayan recipe, using only four ingredients— including yak and cow milk and a splash of lime juice and salt. It’s a durable treat that’s made to last for dogs that need plenty of chewing time. Try Himalayan cheese for a highly digestible and tasty alternative to rawhide. As your pup gnaws, he’ll be able to bite off small, cheesy bits that are rich in protein but free of grains, glutens, binding agents, artificial preservatives, colors or flavors. And when he gets down to the last bite, you can pop it in the microwave for about 30 seconds (add 10-second intervals if needed) and cool it down for a delicious puffed snack your dog can continue to enjoy.

My dog Ghost is a super-super-chewer and tends to eat other tough treats way too quickly so as to be hazardous. He also can’t have rawhide as it upset his stomach. This product is the only product I’ve found that keeps him busy for 45+ minutes. I’ve purchased other brands but they tend to chip into sharp pieces or are softer and don’t last as long so I keep coming back to these. I do take these away from him once he’s gnawed it down to the length of his snout - but then I just turn it into a cheese puff for later by microwaving it for ~45 seconds to a minute.
This is the only edible chew my puppy (30lb, 4 month Am Bully) has not fully consumed in less than 45 minutes! Unfortunately he will get bored of it after too long but I don't leave chews like this with him, I only give when I want him to settle down. They have a weird smokey smell but nothing offensive. I just notice it if he tries to give kisses after chewing one.
I have been ordering Himalayan chews from Chewy for about 2 years, I have tried different companies. We have always been happy until we received this package. They are pretty pricey and one of the pieces is really small. I expect differences in the length of each, but the one piece is so small this time. I think I will purchase in store from now on.
If you have a larger breed like a Labrador or larger these are way too small for any dog that could be considered a “super chewed”. The three we received were much smaller and very pale (so guessing they’re not as smoked therefore not as hard as other brands). My Labrador who generally takes several hours to chew had it in shards in less then an hour. Shards that were enjoyed as we soak them in water and then microwave them to make them become a “crunchy” but definitely not $10.00/each (You get three) chew worth of treats. Unfortunately, the price is too high for what you get and would not buy again or recommend for any larger breed dog.
My name is Journey, I am a Portuguese Water Dog, and my favorite food is CHEESE! When my mom bought these for me I couldn't believe how yummy they are! They are super hard, so it takes me about a week to chew it down to a nub. Then my mom pops it in the microwave for 30 seconds and it gets all fluffy and crunchy! Yum!!! These also don't hurt my soft mouth like other bones, and they aren't sticky and slimey like rawhide. They also dont contain any wheat, corn, soy or chemicals, just CHEESE! I love love love them!
I have 3 large dogs & they all need items to chew on before bedtime & after meals. The bully sticks cause diarrhea and the puppy swallows the large pieces as soon as it gets slippery enough to go down his throat. I tried these Yak sticks & they are perfect. No diarrhea, they last forever, no worry about swallowing soft pieces, no smell or stains. Only side note is that the puppy leaves very small crumbs that sweep up easily. Usually the other dogs pick up the crumbs for me.
I purchased this for my 11-month old 65 pound lab/hound mix. I usually purchase Hank the Himalayan Pet Supply yak chews in either L or XL, depending on what's in stock. The large usually lasts Hank for a few days, the XL 1-2 weeks. This Yak chew from chewy lasted him an hour or so, if that, and it was already down to a nub. I'd give it a 5 for taste, obviously, but a 1 for value for the cost.
This is my second order and the product is different than the first time. My dogs like the flavor but my dog was able to crack off smaller, very hard pieces and choked on one. I had to take it away to save an emergency situation. My puggle is 15 years old and is moderately strong. I would order a different brand and try that.
My dog is a super-chewer who has to get something from her chewing (no Nylabones!). It may take her a few hours to get all the way through a Himalayan cheese treat -- not as long as advertised, but longer than anything else I've found, and she will work on it for half an hour or more at a time. (She can clean out a Super Kong in a few minutes.) Helps keep the peace in our household!
Our dogs usually go through bones in under a minute. These take them a long time to chew which is great for the price and purpose of giving them something to chew over a period of time.
