I got this thinking it was similar to bully sticks just bigger to try for my two big dogs. They have liked antlers and bully sticks, so I thought this would be something

I got this thinking it was similar to bully sticks just bigger to try for my two big dogs. They have liked antlers and bully sticks, so I thought this would be something cool and different for them to try. Unfortunately, they just were not interested in actually chewing it. I tried introducing the product a few different times and in different ways, but alas it remains intact. If you know your dog likes this type of product already I think the size of the product is great.

Bones & Chews are by go to because they are made in the USA. These in particular are just beef "pizzle", they are not treated with any chemicals, and they don't smell (and I have a sensitive nose)! The twisted style lasts longer than the regular, and is second only to the braided variety. These did untwist slightly as she chewed, but if anything it slowed her down more having to mind both pieces. I included a measurement to show that there is no "shrinkflation" here - they really do measure 12".

This is a pretty good product. It was a full foot in length and easily 1 inch in diameter at its narrowest parts. My dog likes bully sticks in general, but they usually take him a few hours of sniffing and licking to get in the mood to gnaw one. This particular bully he was very interested in from the second it was offered. He snatched it up and started chewing right away. It only took him 30 minutes to consume the whole thing from start to finish, which I would have hoped, given its size, that it would occupy him for a bit longer. Because it was two thinner pieces twisted together it was a more brittle chew than solid bully sticks. Not only did this make it easier to eat quickly, but my dog was also breaking off smaller chunks and swallowing them without really chewing them. That always makes me nervous due to the possibility of intestinal blockage, but I do know bully sticks are digestible. I rate this product a 4 for brittleness and potential digestion danger. My dog rates it a full 5 stars for ease of consumption and taste!

I figured I'd give this chew a try because my 70lb Pit mix loves to chew and destroy things. This was perfect i'm glad i chose this option. It lasted him a while

I figured I'd give this chew a try because my 70lb Pit mix loves to chew and destroy things. This was perfect i'm glad i chose this option. It lasted him a while to get through and kept him busy. All other options I've tried, he devoured in minutes. I did put this in his toy that holds chews and helps to slow him down even more. My dog loves this and was so excited about it. I will definitely purchase this again.

Since I have multiple dogs, and it’s a large chew, my husband tried to saw it in half with a small saw made for sawing small branches, and could not make a dent. This will be sure to do a number on their teeth, which have been compromised by using very hard chews in the past. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way…
