Description

Brown's Bird Lover's Blend No Squirrels… Just Birds! Wild Bird Food is a unique solution to bird watching woes because it helps keep squirrels out of your feeders. It's made with premium white millet for carbs and safflower seeds that are high in fat and oil for extra energy. The secret ingredient is chili pepper for a fiery hot taste that deters squirrels but doesn't bother birds that can't feel the spicy sensation. Squirrels also find the white safflower seeds to be bitter, so they'll surely stay away while wild birds enjoy a gourmet meal of natural ingredients.

    Small birds love it

    By on

I put this seed in a hanging feeder with small perches so finches, chickadees and tufted titmouses are the primary recipients of it and they love it. As far as I can tell, the squirrels generally leave it alone though I do have other seed out that definitely distracts them. Use caution when pouring it into the feeder as the cloud of pepper dust can irritate the eyes.

    Squirrels Love It

    By on

I read the reviews, though mixed, it seemed that some people had good luck with this, so I thought I'd give it a try. Well, the squirrels here in Virginia love this stuff as much as any. Waste of money. Additionally, I'm getting less birds feeding at the feeder I put this seed in. Seems the squirrels like it, but the birds don't. :(

    No Squirrels

    By on

This lives up to it's name and the squirrels are gone, but there is not enough of the seeds that cardinals and jays like to keep them coming. The smaller seeds last and there are a few birds eating that but activity at the feeder by birds is also down.

Hate to tell you but the squirrels like it too.

    By on

The food is well liked by the birds but the local mammals don't seem to have a problem eating it either. But that's OK. I feed everything anyway. About 20 pounds of black oil sunflower seeds for the squirrels a month and they just keep multiplying. The only seed that nothing eats except pigeons are those round brown ones. I think milo or millet or something like that. How is this for a useless review?

    i'm so sad

    By on

I was so excited to get the No Squirrels Bird Food but i'm sad to say it does not work for me. The dang squirrels just sit in my inside window feeder and eat till it's all gone. I guess i'm done trying to keep them out as this was my last hope.

    Birds love this seed

    By on

The birds love this seed. This seems to be the favorite seed of several woodpeckers who didn't come to the feeders before. I buy several kinds of seed and use different feeders for each.

    Good product; lousy package

    By on

I've been buying this product for a while. The seeds attract birds and the pepper keeps the squirrels away. Can't ask for more than that - except a better container. It is SUPPOSED to be resealable, but the tiny tab that you pull to open the bag almost always (9 of 10 times) breaks off at first pull. I then have to use a scissor or knife to open the package, but it's hard to see where the resealing lines are, so I often have to resort to rubber bands to seal it up (and keep the pepper flakes from getting into the house air causing us to sneeze :)). Seems like it should be a relatively easy fix for the vendor (Brown's). If/when they do fix it, I'll give it 4 stars and recommend it to others I've been buying this product for a while. Cheap filler seeds used

    By on

All true bird lovers know that the most popular seed is sunflower. I was really disappointed when my order came and I looked at the seed. No sunflower seed and a large portion of filler seed the birds usually just push to the ground where it attracts rodents.

    quick delivery

    By on

Ordered one day and received it the next. Our birds are very happy. They are now "courting" all over our patio. We're sure there will be many more birds in the near future!
