Very large morsels. Only the Blue Jays took their turns to fit one in their mouths one at a time. But then the little birds lined up. When permitted, the smaller birst (gold finch, house sparrow, chickadees, even cardinals (male and female) went for it by cracking open the encased treat. Then it became a free for all. Peck, peck here, and a peck peck there, You get it. In the early morning, the birds wake me up with the sound of door knocking. I yell, come in. It's just the birds.

The sweet birds love these. Some get a bit and fly off. Some pulverize the suet and stay to share with other birds. I feed squirrels other things, so it’s hard to tell if they eat this, but they’re certainly not into hot peppers like birds are. There’s no waste with this. It’s a terrific and affordable and lasting delight for birds.

Just for birds

Now I’m just feeding birds. Took about 5 days or so for the birds to adapt to the change but I see the level in the feeder steadily decreasing. In the past it

Now I’m just feeding birds. Took about 5 days or so for the birds to adapt to the change but I see the level in the feeder steadily decreasing. In the past it was emptied in a whole day with the peanut flavored nuggets but that was due to squirrels feasting on it. I love my squirrels but I feed them whole raw peanuts. And more importantly the raccoons aren’t devouring the food meant for birds.
