Not such a squirrel deterrent after all

    By on

It started out the first couple of times to keep squirrels away. But we have 3 very determined squirrels who battled through the spicy taste and now developed an immunity to it. They love it just as much as the birds. It seemed a good idea at first but back to buying regular bird seed AND backing to the drawing board.

My Birdseed No Longer Brings All the Squirrels to the Yard

    By on

Filled my squirrel-proof bird feeder with black sunflower seeds and I turned my yard into an all-you-can-eat buffet for both birds and squirrels. The birds would spill 3X as much as they ate to help out their little squirrel friends below (I watched them to this). Not cool! Plus they went through 5 lbs. of seed in 3-4 days. Ordered Wild Delight and now I have fewer but more interesting looking birds that are not gorging themselves or being wasteful. No going through ten pounds of seed per week. Best of all this product ended the squirrel visitations. Hooray! My birdseed no longer brings all the squirrels to the yard. And they're like, it's better than yours. Great stuff!

    By on

I have been using this product to great success. Now I do have some yard critter feeding stations too, but they are separated and now they leave the bird stations alone, it's great! The variety of avians this attracts is fantastic as well, chickadees, blue jays, grackles, goldfinches, bullfinches and woodpeckers to name a few. I highly recommend this product.

    Keep Squirrels away?

    By on

I have been purchasing this product for a few months thru Chewy. What a joke! Squirrels are eating it EVERYDAY! They reach and stretch for the feeder house when the dish is empty. Same goes for the suet, they eat right thru the holes in the suet cage.

    Good stuff

    By on

We count on this food to keep the squirrels out of our window feeder and discourage them from our deck. It works on most squirrels. It provides much amusement when a young squirrel tries it for the first time. A few squirrels get acclimated. It's a bit pricey but keeps down the usage of regular bird food....

    My Squirrels Don't Mind This

    By on

It seems my few squirrels don't mind the hot food. I can't tell if they are deterred at all but there is some peace of mind in using it I guess? I had a finch seed my feeder that is most visited by house finches and chipping sparrows, and they all didn't seem to mind the seed switch up- and neither did the squirrels!
