Questions & Answers

how many bags would be needed to fill the bottom of a 40 gallon breeder tank
Answer by ChewySep 12, 2022
This gravel has a substrate density of 100 pounds. The general rule is 1 to 2 pounds per gallon, but if you want to be more precise, you can use the following equation. In inches: Length x Width x Bed Depth Desired. Then divide by 1,728. Then multiply by the approximate substrate density (100 pounds, in this case). Your answer is how many pounds you will need. One would need about 35 pounds per inch in a 40 breeder.

Are the granules smaller then regular gravel? Is it little more corse then sand?

Unique grain size

I bought this gravel for its beauty but also for its functionality in my tank. Small enough grain size for my goldfish to pick up and sift through but big enough that it won't get blown around and ruin my canister filter

See for yourself

Smallest grain gravel before you are at sand size, even looks like the sand that is on Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Clean until bucket water is clear, use water clear packets, water clear in 1 day. Smallest grain gravel on the market

Nice gravel

I really love the color of this. I wanted something light, but not white. This looks really nice.
