How much is needed for a 10 gallon aquarium?

Answer by ChewyApr 05, 2022
The Peace River substrate weighs approximately 100 pounds per cubic foot. Aquarium sizes vary, but as an example, in a 20 gallon tank that measures 24 x 12 footprint, a 20 pound bag would give you about 1 ¼ Inch bed depth. A 5 pound bag would just cover the bottom to about ½ of an inch.

It says freshwater tank but the description says brackish and marine. Is it for all three.

Answer by ChewyAug 24, 2021
This substrate is suitable for freshwater, brackish, and marine aquariums.

Is this a good substrate for live plants?

Answer by ChewyMay 30, 2023

Can I use this in a Betta tank?

Answer by ChewyJun 20, 2022
This substrate is safe for all aquariums including Bettas.

Tiny

Purchased as base in potted plants. Works great with slightly larger size too for my needs.

Beautiful substrate!!

This is great for a betta tank. It is larger than sand but smaller than gravel. It doesn’t get sucked up in the siphon when cleaning. My mystery snails love it

I was unsure on the size of this gravel, but knew I needed something smaller than what I had but I didn't want sand. I set up a 2nd tank - 20 gallon long and used 1 20 pound bag. The color is a beautiful light tan. The tank looks great and very natural. I did rinse the gravel for quite a while to get as much dust as possible out. I just used a 5 gallon bucket and a hose. Once in the tank - there was very little cloudiness. I will be breaking down my 46 gallon bowfront and starting over with it. It's been up for 15 years so time for a good cleaning and re-scaping. I will be using this gravel again - probably the same color! The small gravel is perfect for my corys and clown loaches - which are in the larger tank. I definitely recommend this size gravel for anyone that wants a small gravel but not sand.
