Feeding Instructions

For adult cats, feed 1 pack per 6-8 lbs. of body weight per day. Kittens require up to two and a half times this amount. For pregnant and lactating females, allow free access to food. Adjust the amount of food to meet your cat's individual needs. Food should be fed at room temperature. Always provide access to fresh water.

Transition Instructions

Slowly transition your pet to Caru stews over a period of about 7 days so that the new food is not a sudden shock to their system. Mix 25% of the new food in with 75% of the current food for the first 2 days, then mix 50% new food with 50% existing food for the next 2 days, then mix 75% new food with 25% current food for the next 2 days. By day seven, you can feed your dog 100% new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process.

    Awful. Should be rated 0.

    By on

I bought this product along with the Turkey Stew. Just awful. Overpriced for a small box of gravy. No salmon to be seen. Just liquid in a box. Cats hated it. Tried mixing it with their organic grain free dry food. No way. Had to toss it all away after sitting all day. Don’t waste your hard earned money on this for your fur babies. Company should be ashamed.

    Mmm tasty!

    By on

The kings and queen of the house love this food. My only complaint is I wish there was more in it. Says it's 6oz, but between 5 cats it's not a large portion. once it's divvied up. Definitely a more satiate portion for a household with 2 cats. But I appreciate the texture and amount of hydration my kitties get from this.

    Did not like texture

    By on

My cat did eat it reluctantly once or twice. I was disappointed in the texture -- it was too runny and like mush. There are no big pieces or variety of textures. It's simply mush. I was attracted to the box as opposed to cans but disappointed in the product.

Awesome product, what cat food should be!

    By on

I have been feeding cats almost my whole life, and this is by far the best product I have ever found. I can not say enough good things about it. I now have 3 cats (I once had 10! crazy cat lady) and they all like it. My cats are older so having food with plenty of fluid is really important. I had a vet tell me once that the cheapest canned cat food is better than the most expensive dry kibble because of moisture content. Why we think our animals can survive on dry processed crunchies is beyond me. I like to think this is the way we will all feed our cats in the future. But why wait.

    Human Grade Food for Cats

    By on

I am a member of the rescue community in my state. I have a large number of cats living with me. Having done a fair amount of research on various foods, I knew when I ordered that the Caru line would be good for the cats. They all like it and I mix it with The Honest Kitchen as well as a bit of Friskies. This line is well worth the price for dogs or cats or both. Also containers do not have BPA which can be problematic when buying foods in cans.

My extremely picky eaters love this.

    By on

I was cursed with two beautiful cats that are the pickiest eaters ever. As kittens they ate just one brand of kitten food, then rejected it as they got older. After much frustration I found a brand that they ate, with relish, 5 flavors ... and as luck would have it that company discontinued those choices. These cats are now 8 years old and for the better part of their lives would only eat dry food. When I tried this CARU flavor I found another hit, they love it. I can't recommend this food, nor the company, enough. If you have a picky eater this one is worth a try.

    Excellent quality!

This is truly a wet food! Which is absolutely perfect for my super finicky cat with Urinary struvites and crystals. The added moisture is exactly what my lil' girl needs to keep her bladder working healthily! Thank you Caru for making a food that is human grade!!!

    Smelled good to me

    By on

The one cat that I have that eats anything will not touch this. My other cat would eat it unenthusiastically and always leave food behind. My cats just don't care for this food.

Please Keep This Wonderful Flavor in Stock!

    By on

My aging (2 are currently ill) kitties love this food and I would really love to be able to count on it. It's expensive but worth it, especially for my little sick girls. They will eat the Wild Salmon & Turkey Stew but no other flavor of Caru nor homemade anything. I realize that the Caru company is small but PLEASE try to keep this in stock! Thank you.

    4 Tails Up!

    By on

4 out of 4 cats happily lap up this flavor (Wild Salmon & Turkey). It's rare they all like the same food. So pleased to find a human grade option that's not freeze dried - our cats won't eat the reconstituted stuff. High quality ingredients: No GMOs, no China, no gums and other garbage. Possible Cons: 1) Pricey but worthy of finding a way to feed occasionally (add to rotation) 2) Some cats may only lap up liquid and leave nutritional bits pushed to edge of bowl. 3) Tapioca? Better than gums but haven't seen many studies on it. 4) Currently out of stock at all major online retailers: Is it just popularity - failure to anticipate demand? Or, is it related to availability of wild salmon? Nonetheless 4 out of 4 cats happily lap up this flavor (Wild Salmon & Turkey). It's rare they all like the same food.
