Adjust the amount of food to meet your cat's individual needs. Food should be fed at room temperature. Always provide access to fresh water.

Transition Instructions

Slowly transition your pet to Caru stews over a period of about 7 days so that the new food is not a sudden shock to their system. Mix 25% of the new food in with 75% of the current food for the first 2 days, then mix 50% new food with 50% existing food for the next 2 days, then mix 75% new food with 25% current food for the next 2 days. By day seven, you can feed your dog 100% new food. If your pet experiences any kind of digestive upset during this time, try slowing down the process.

    Surprised!

    By on

Please keep selling this one, Chewy. My cats can't have chicken, and it's a nightmare trying to find things without it. I blind-bought this with zero expectations, because it is both healthy and expensive, therefore almost certain to be rejected. Mulder was suspicious at first, but has asked for this stuff every night since it arrived, and Scully finishes what little he leaves. I'm shocked and stocking up. Great product.

    They love it!

    By on Top 100 Contributor

I wasn’t sure about this food, sometimes a little hesitant to try new things. As we all know cats are a “special” breed when it comes to food! Great ingredients but they don’t always agree, but this one was a big hit with all! Came highly recommended, the best you can buy, no imported products, human grade, made in the USA, a company that cares about our pets not just their bottom line! Will keep on purchasing!

After smelling it, they would not get near the food bowls. Too bad because it has quality ingredients.

    Picky Kitten

    By on

My 5 month old kitten eats this food on a rotating basis - sometimes he loves it and sometimes he will not touch it. Well - I guess all cats are finicky!!

    Excellent, No-Fillers, Loved-By-Picky-Cat Wet Food!

    By on

My kitty loves this stuff (even after months of feeding it every day) and he is real picky when it comes to wet food. I've never seen him lick the bowl clean like he does with this food. It is definitely a runny stew, but great to use for giving powder supplements, medicine, etc. I've spent countless hours searching for a wet food without gums, agar-agar, and other fillers and FINALLY found this excellent, high quality (and human-grade!) option. THANK YOU Caru!

Our picky eater goes bonkers for this stuff!

Our 14 yr old was recently diagnosed w/hyperthyroidism so as she adjusts to her medication, we’re trying to get her weight back up via additional feedings. Unfortunately, she has also started to turn up her nose at her usual wet food or anything that is served too regularly, so it’s been a continual hunt to find a steady supply of LID/grain-free options that she likes. Well, let me just say that I will cry if they ever discontinue/change the formula of this b/c she literally INHALES the stuff whenever we feed it to her! Why I LOVE Caru for my cat: 1. Was given my cat Taxi by my neighbor when she was 9 years old and had basically eaten Purina sensitive stomach kibble for the majority of her life. However, she would still vomit daily on this formula, was missing teeth (the ones she still has are caked in plaque), had HORRIBLE breath, was overweight and worst of all she would spend hours a day scratching her head with her hind legs (we thought she had fleas but the vet just kept saying it was seasonal allergies). When I got her, she already had scabs on the underside of her jaw and near her ears from scratching all the time, she would scratch off the scabs and i'd find new scabs so the wounds never properly Why I LOVE Caru for my cat: 1. When I got her, she already had scabs on the underside of her jaw and near her ears from scratching all the time, she would scratch off the scabs and i'd find new scabs so the wounds never properly healed. 2. Was recommended Dr. Pitcairn's "Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats" book and a few other holistic diet books for pets (finally realized cats are NOT suppose to eat dry kibble food, will eventually damage kidneys (as it did with my last cat) and has no real nutrients after being chemically processed and dried). Also realized the theory that kibble "cleans their teeth" is more of a marketing tactic (imagine being told if you eat crunchy cereal everyday your teeth will be clean) 3. Started to SLOWLY switch my cat over to a better brand of kibble that had probiotics, was made WITHOUT soy, corn, meat by-products, and all those fillers that commonly cause allergies (vomiting) and overweight issues. Bought kibble that had fruits, vegetables and meat. 4. From there, I started adding in powdered vitamins and minerals (like sea kelp and probiotics) into the kibble to get her stomach balanced out, and introduced wet food into the kibble (This wasn't easy, went through MULTIPLE wet foods, had to return many) Also my cat wouldn't really eat the wet food at first, I had to mix it well into the kibble (to say she's a picky eater is an understatement) She was still vomiting daily though, sometimes whole kibble she had just eaten and other times giant hairballs. 5. I went through many, many, many brands of wet food (limited ingredients, high quality wet food) but mostly canned and in a pate texture. I experimented A LOT and finally found that if I mixed just a little hot water into the food to warm it up and have it be more of a stew consistency, she actually would eat it. 6. Kept buying wet food that she liked but after 2-3 weeks she would lose interest and I'd just buy a new brand. Was now mostly eating 50% kibble and 50% wet food (separately). 7. FINALLY stumbled upon Caru wet food, and being that I have a mild case of OCD, I researched everything about them. Everything from their packaging to the ingredients they use is what I had been looking for and most closely resembled what a home-made diet would be. Bought my cat a case of the Turkey Stew to try out, and I have to say after a week of her eating that food, she REFUSED to eat her kibble anymore. Honestly, I never thought she would give up her kibble, this cat ate kibble for 9 years. Now even if she's "starving", meowing all over the place for food, if I fill the bowl with kibble, she won't even go over to sniff it. 8. My conclusion, Caru is an amazing cat food. Taxi cat is now at a very healthy weight, her breath (although it still smells I think from the plaque on her teeth) is not nearly as bad as before, her coat is so shiny, her scabs healed and she hasn't scratched her head in months and best of all, she hasn't vomited once since I started her on this food. The stew is the perfect consistency and I rotate between the Wild Salmon, Turkey, and Chicken Crab to give her some variety but she would gladly eat the Turkey Stew for months at a time. I'm so glad there are companies trying to make real cat food and if you have a picky cat, don't give up! Just keep trying, took me 3 YEARS to get her off kibble and actually find a brand of high quality wet-food she will eat every day. I also stopped having to take her to the vet other than her yearly check-up, she is healthy and I recommend this brand to other cat owners on a regular. Thanks Caru, you healed my cat! … more

If your cats are ready for healthy food, it might work for you.

My cats like their junk food, and apparently this is too healthy for them. I ended up feeding it to my dog mixed with her dry food.
