This product has easy installation in all doors & walls. It's also recommended for very thin panels & screens, self lining to 2" thick.

A wall liner is only needed when installing the pet door into a wall.

Not For Screen Doors

Extremely hard to install. Had to use a grinder top cut off most of inner frame. I guess this is made for thick wood doors as it has 2" of thickness. Almost impossible to use on a screen door. So many modifications it will probably never last long.

Good door for a large cat

Great price. Easy to install. Works well. Our four cats took to it easily. Small problem - the mounting hardware was very cheap; the heads broke off two of the screws and a third screw became bent during the installation. I felt like I was mounting a cat door using toy screws.

Great!

We actually broke it in 2. For an outside. At house! Use the part for a house door and hung some cut up table setting! Worked great for both! I’d buy again

Very Nice Cat Door for Wall

I purchased the Cat Mate large cat door to install in a 2x3 studded wall and finished with drywall and beadboard paneling on the walls. The directions on this site will tell you that there is no wall liner for this Cat Mate door but when I checked the Closer Pets website I found out that they are the same company and it will fit perfectly. I took a chance and it was made for each other. I ordered one Closer Pets wall liner and the Large Cat Mate cat door. Went together easily after cutting out both sides of the wall and screwing two short 2x3's in between the wall on both sides of the cutouts so that both sides of the cat door had something solid to screw into. Hardest part was making sure the two cutouts lined up well.
