Catit Cat Litter Mat, Grey

I had another half-moon shaped mat and my cat would jump right over it so that one was retired to door mat in the garage! I got the Catit Large Mat (35x23 inches). It is not the same photo as what's pictured here in the product page. It doesn't have the lines and the chubby "X" shape in the center. The catit large mat is like the small mat version design ...a grid of dots w a mesh. It also has a similar 'rubber loop' construction as the halfmoon mat I had before, and I think my cat did not like that loop feel on her claws, so that's why she jumped over it. This Catit mat are similar type of loops but they are smaller, closer together and more flattened down. So she seems to be happy with it. Got this for our tiny apartment and tight space to go with our litter box. It's still a little bigger than we had hoped but it's pretty small and works really well. Catches so many litter and is easy to clean/vacuum up!

It really holds on to excess litter! I have a pretty small bathroom, so when litter is kicked and carried out of the litter box it goes absolutely everywhere. With this mat, the litter sits in one place and doesn't move until I shake it out. The little circles on the mat really help -- they're just deep enough in the mat to trap the litter inside.

I was skeptical about this mat. We’ve tried so many with very mixed results. This actually not only catches the litter as our boy hops out of his box, but it stops the spread of the litter to a more concentrated area on the mat. I no longer have to vacuum the mat every day.

These are thick and heavy in the good way, and they grab litter sufficiently, but they hold onto everything too well! It's not that big of a problem if your mat only ever deals with litter, but if you need to wash your mat because of other... Wet situations that happen near the box, then the positives immediately turn into big negatives.

This mat is great. It picks up leftover litter, so there's almost no tracking. The texture fibers help keep litter on the mat, but they shake or rinse off quickly. It's a thick mat, not flimsy, and is a good width for the litter pan. Most importantly, kitty is fine with the mat! Definitely recommend this mat, esp. for the price.

I recommend buying a larger mat than you think. I bought a small and my kitten sometimes would jump out the side of the litter box and would not use the mat. The issue has since been resolved and the mat has worked great! I specifically wanted a mat that did NOT have the double layer feature. I wasn’t interested in having litter particles permanently stuck in the mat or having to separate the two layers for cleaning. This mat has great grooves and a high enough edge to catch and keep litter particles inside the mat. It’s easy to clean and all particles fall right into the trash when shaken. Great buy!
