Cat wigged out over it the first time and then completely avoided

I am trying to find some toys that my foster cat will enjoy playing with independently, and he also likes to chew on plants, velco, and play wand ends. I thought this would be perfect because he likes feathers and it looks like a fun chew toy. However, when I first tossed this to him, he grabbed it and attacked it - doing bunny kicks, which I thought meant he liked it since I can tell he wants to get this primal urge out when playing but can't really go there with the wand toys we have. However, every time after that I tried throwing it or offering it to him, he will chase it but when it stops, run away from it (not catch or attack it). If I hold it for him to rub on or explore, he just completely avoids it while rubbing other parts of my body far away from this toy. I am learning that I think this cat hates catnip and when I expose him to a novel catnip toy he will go to town on kicking the heck out of it and then will steadfastly avoid it every time I try to introduce it back into play. He has zero interest in chewing on this, which is why I bought it. The unpredictable bounce pattern could make it fun to chase but since he's not into catching it, for this particular cat it's just not working.

Good for teething

Bought for my kitten so she would stop teething on my headphones wires (destroyed two pairs, one of which was 5 min out of the box). Rubber texture is nice for

Bought for my kitten so she would stop teething on my headphones wires (destroyed two pairs, one of which was 5 min out of the box). Rubber texture is nice for that. The toy disappeared so she's either not interested or it's stashed away amongst her favs.

Flimsy feathers

My 5 month kitten bit off the feathers in literally 1 day. She likes the rubber texture (I think) but her favorite teething toy is the mint leaf chew toy.
