Compounding is a way for licensed pharmacists to create a customized medication that meets your pets specific needs. Compounding pharmacists mix or change one or more FDA-approved medications to prepare a special medication for your pet. For example, if a medication is only available in pill form, the pharmacist might create it in liquid, gel, or capsule form.
Your pet may have a specific health need that cannot be addressed by an FDA-approved drug. For example:

Fantastic. Fabulous really. Our boy Sam (15yr MN Maine coon mix) has mega colon as well as GI lymphoma. In the past when he has lost a friend, stress causes him to become constipated. When our old girl Prowler passed away, Sam went on strike. He required several enemas to get things moving. Luckily, now that he’s taking cisapride twice a day (in combination with his lymphoma meds, his Royal Canin Fiber Response food, and his twice daily lactulose) he is going happily and regularly! Yay Sam! Yay cisapride! Yay chewy!!
I have used this for a Feline with Megacolon. Cost savings is great!!! Costs more than twice as much through my vet's pharmacy, who they are required to use. Cisapride works very well for my cat. I give kudos to my vet for proper attention to my cat. Thanks Chewy for great pricing.
Order was as expected and arrived in a few days
I've been very happy getting this cisapride on chewy. It is half the price of getting it at my vet's office. I just sprinkle the capsule on her food so it's easy and it helps with bringing moisture into her colon. So far it's been fast shipping although even though I submitted the prescription it has to approve it to the vet every time
My previous order for cisapride (not from Chewy) was an edible pill that my cat ate as a treat. Worked well. I ordered these not knowing that the Chewy cisapride is a blue and white capsule with the med inside in powder form. Didn't expect that, my mistake but I had no idea it was going to be in ground med/capsule form. Cat does not find these to be a treat at all. Yes I empty the contents into wet food but that presents a different problem for me. eg, doesn't always finish the wet food; not convenient for my occasional cat sitter.
The chewy pharmacy was completely incompetent in filling this order. Even the vet was getting frustrated with all the times they kept calling. The chewy pharmacy tech didn’t even know how to pronounce the name of this medication. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of better options for compounding pharmacies.
I rated this med a 5 bec it keeps my cat's stools soft and keeps him from undergoing surgery for a hernia. However, taking it long term may contribute to him developing a heart problem. Keep a close eye on pet by vet check every few weeks.
After taking various meds for upset GI issues and vomiting bile nightly, my 9 y.o. Maltipoo has finally gotten relief with Cisapride. I spoke with a Chewy pharmacist before ordering and felt confident it is a safe drug for dogs. So far I have not observed any adverse side effects. I put the capsule in a Milkbone pill pocket and he takes it without any problems.
My cat has had no problems since taking cisipride . He also has a probiotic and Chewy supplies everything I need for him .
These capsules cost more than twice the amount locally!
