Do I have to refrigerate this before opening? I had purchased a pack of this 3 weeks ago and just read where refrigeration is recommended. I did not do that when received.

C&S Woodpecker Suet Block

We have had up to three varieties of woodpecker dine at our hanging bird feeders, but to attract them we seem compelled to hang the "Woodpecker"-labeled suet varieties. We have been using the C&S brand for years, although, since CoVid has struck, resupply of that brand to our usual in-person stores has disappeared. I consider this brand to be much appreciated by our usual "customers."

The birds love it

The birds, including woodpeckers, love this suet cake. They actually go through one a day. Since the packaging doesn't indicate "no melt", I'm concerned that it won't be suitable for our very hot Okla summers. Hope I'm wrong.

Birds flock to this!

We have 3 different woodpeckers plus blue jays, finches , cardinals and more that love these cakes. We don’t use in the hot heat of summer as these will melt.

Beyond woodpeckers

Many birds go for this suet. They all swear they're woodpeckers, but they are lying. They are blue jays, starlings, sparrows, cardinals, even orioles.

Birds Love This

Here in the Southeast we get Downy and Red-bellied woodpeckers loving on this, but there's a wide variety of other birds including wrens, warblers, nuthatches, chickadees, and even occasional bluebirds. We went through the first dozen of these in about 9 months. This is a great supplement to the seed feeder which services those same birds plus cardinals and finches who can't handle the suet feeder dangling in mid-air.

Woodpeckers love this!

Thanks to a cash back incentive I was able to purchase this and treat the neighborhood birds in my area. They love this! Not only does it attract woodpeckers, I’ve also seen many other types of birds stop by my feeder to munch on their treat. Definitely worth a try if you enjoy feeding the birds like I do.

Great suet cake

I love these cakes for my suet feeder. they last longer than loose birdseed and the woodpeckers adore them. I also find that the Cardinals also love to munch on these. the only draw back can be how messy they are. I have found putting the package in the freezer or at least the fridge before you try to open them makes all the difference. I received a cash back promotion in exchange for my honest review.

Great nutritious snack for my woodpecker friends

These suet cakes are the easiest way to feed my feathered friends. I have lots of woodpeckers that come into my yard looking for food. I will be waiting a bit to put out only because I also have black bear searching out snack. They can destroy one of these cakes in 5 minutes! I am receiving CashBack on this purchase and participating in a CashBack program for my honest review
