The birds usually have no problem emptying my tube feeder in a day or two. Yet this 'Premium Select' seed can take a week to disappear. The seed has a suspiciously

The birds usually have no problem emptying my tube feeder in a day or two. Yet this 'Premium Select' seed can take a week to disappear. The seed has a suspiciously white powdery look to it - as if all the essential fatty oils in the seed have dried up. This could well explain why it is not popular with the birds. Also quite a bit of 'filler' or incidental non-seed things such as straw and twigs which I do not expect to see considering this is their premium seed. The seed is mostly millet and that mostly ends up on the ground unwanted.
