    Lyric sunflower kernels

By Judy on Jan 4, 2021

This was our 2nd order of the Lyric Sunflower Kernels. Our birds, large and small love this treat, if they can keep the squirrels out of it. We are very pleased with the handling of our order, simply to order and shipping arrived when promised even amongst Christmas deliveries. Thank you Chewy!

    The birds love them

By Bird on Jan 8, 2021

50 pounds gone in less than a month! The only negative is that the price has gone UP significantly since I bought that first 50 pounds. Now I can get them locally for less.

    awesome and easy

By Nikki on Oct 21, 2020

My mother hates shells and debris under the bird feeders. I love seeing the bird though so this is the best compromise ever. The wild birds in the foothills of Colorado love these, and with no shells there is no mess to clean up. It also pours well and works well in several different types of bird feeders. My only complaint for this food is that in my mesh hanging bird feeder it will fall out and end up everywhere on windy days. though there are so few of those days that its not really a concern as long as I don't refill it till the wind settles.

Birds love it, but they sprout

By Tasha on Sep 27, 2020

I have to start out by saying that my birds ABSOLUTELY love these seeds. I have to fill my feeders 2 times a day. But, be aware. These seeds will sprout sunflowers in your yard. I currently have more than 15 newly sprouting sunflower plants. While they will be a very fun and beautiful addition to my yard, I assumed based on the reviews and the description that these seeds did not sprout. I am not upset about it personally, but if you don’t want a yard overrun by these flowers, this might not be the best choice for you.

Finally quality whole shelled Sunflower Seeds in a large bag.

By Cril on Dec 31, 2020

Getting harder to find the shelled sunflower seeds. Less mess in your garden, but be warned Pine Siskin flocks eat it FAST.

    Birds don’t like it!!!

By Ruth on Aug 22, 2020

I would not recommend this seed. It is not being eaten. The birds are Picking it up and dropping it to the ground, which is wasting this seed and making a big mess! I looked up the possible reason/reasons for them doing this, and it says the number one cause, is poor quality seed, or wrong type of seed. I know that when I used the in shell Sunflower seed they were not wasting it, so it’s not the wrong type.

Good, high quality, but birds aren't happy

By Anon on Jul 13, 2020 Top 500 Contributor

Like many others I have been watching birds while quarantined. I tried all sorts of brands before finding Lyric. This is the gold standard of bird seed. No fillers, no junk, just wholesome and easily recognizable ingredients. The birds' favorite is the Lyric Fine Tunes. It must have been on sale when I bought it at about $1/lb. For my next autoship order, the price had more than doubled - not just here but every I could find it online. I tried the Woodpecker blend, the Chickadee blend, and the sunflower kernels instead. Here in Indiana, my flock ranked them in this order: 1. Fine Tunes 2. Woodpecker 3. Chickadee 4. Sunflower kernels I thought this would be a sure bet, as sunflower chips Like many others I have been watching birds while quarantined. I tried all sorts of brands before finding Lyric. It looks fresh. They instead eat a dried insect blend and peanuts I bought elsewhere. At nearly $50 for 25 lbs, this is one I do not recommend and will not repurchase. Four stars because it is a quality company. … more
