Contains large nuts and fruit pieces and the squirrels and large birds love it
By Mary on Jan 15, 2021
Thought 20 lbs of this Lyric seed was a little cheaper than the Wild Delight 20 lb bag of nut and Berry - so I thought I would try it. The pieces in this seed mix are much larger and it attracts squirrels, bluejays, mockingbirds, red bellied woodpeckers etc. I feed this seed on the ground, so that the smaller birds have a chance to feed at a platform feeder. The smaller birds at the platform feeder enjoy Lyric golden safflower seed and the Wild Delight nuts and berry mix of smaller size seeds. I went through a 20 lb of Lyric fruit and nut much faster than a 20 lb bag of Wild Delight nut and berry. I prefer the Wild Delight for smaller birds. not a "no waste" mix
By aurora4me on Jan 7, 2021
This is a great mix (reviewing my first bag)... Many kinds of nuts, and seeds... and yes, there is some corn. NOTE: This mix is NOT a no waste seed mix as there are some black oil seeds in this mix. I have not seen any nut shells yet, only the black oil seed shells. The birds (winter in the minnesota - chickadees, white and red breasted nuthatches, juncos, pine siskin, redpolls, cardinals, blue jays, red-bellied woodpeckers, downy and hairy woodpeckers and so on...) LOVE this mix, as do the squirrels... I'm sure the pileated woodpeckers would also enjoy this mix if we placed it in a different area for them. Thus far this has been a great mix for our birds. --- To note: After a few weeks of This is a great mix (reviewing my first bag)... Many kinds of nuts, and seeds... and yes, there is some corn. Birds love it!
By RNBRDLJTHP on Jan 3, 2021
Living in the Midwest and having snow on the ground for 5 or 6 months out of a year, I was happy to see the birds that stick around for the winter love this bird food. I’m happy to know they can come to my feeders and have food they love and will give them energy to keep them warm during our winter months.

Good 'dessert' food
By Moose on Nov 27, 2020
I mix this with a general Wagner's feed as a special treat for my feathered friends. We haven't had any complaints!

It's for the birds
By OurPack on Oct 6, 2020
I haven't tasted it yet, but it looks good. Pulled a muscle dragging the sacks around. I'll let you know what I think when I've had a bowl.

Excellent variety, drew new birds

This nut & berry mix is superior to any other brand I have tried. We are seeing birds in our yard that we've never seen before!

Too inconsistent.
By Jess on Aug 4, 2020
This product is hit or miss. One bag is full of quality nuts. The next bad is full of corn and peanuts. Chewy has great customer service, but the product is too inconsistent to pay this price. I will be contacting Lyric directly.

Great in the beginning but quality going downhill.
By Elizabeth888 on Jun 22, 2020
When I received the first order of Lyric I was blown away—a clear 5 stars. The quality of the nuts (cashews, almonds, peanuts, sunflower kernels, pistachios, pecans, etc.) was outstanding. I immediately put it on auto order as I had not found that quality of nuts in the other mixes I previously tried. My birds and squirrels were very happy. It was worth the higher cost. I continued to be pleased with my shipments until recently and recommended it to friends. Two shipments ago was when I first noticed that the quality of nuts had drastically reduced — only a small quantity of smaller cashew pieces — most of the mix was peanuts and large pieces of corn. Corn is consistently the last thing When I received the first order of Lyric I was blown away—a clear 5 stars. Two shipments ago was when I first noticed that the quality of nuts had drastically reduced — only a small quantity of smaller cashew pieces — most of the mix was peanuts and large pieces of corn. Corn is consistently the last thing my birds and squirrels choose to eat. Given my previous great experience I decided it might just be an “off” shipment and I would reserve judgment until the next shipment. Well, the next shipment arrived and it seemed even worse—no more prevalent almonds or cashews. Mostly corn and peanuts. I ended up ordering bulk cashews to add to the mix to make it special like previously. Now, instead of loving this mix, I will be considering whether it is still worth the cost for a largely peanut/corn mix and whether there are better alternatives available. … more

Great stuff.
By Atlas on May 24, 2020
Wow. This bird food brought a lot of different kinds of birds to my feeder. When I put it out in the morning, it's gone in 2 or 3 hours. And I mean really gone. Everything gets eaten. (Even the corn which I was surprised about) There is no waste. I also just want to point out that Chewy has the best price on this stuff. Every where else I've tried to get it is literally double the price! Great job Chewy. I highly recommend this bird food.

A Great Mix
By TalkWithBirds on May 20, 2020
This is just the best mix I've found for acorn woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches and Stellar's Jays (Black-headed Grosbeaks also like it), and the price is great as well. If you have smaller songbirds this is not a great mix for you as it is chock full of larger nuts, seeds and fruit (try Lyric's smaller hulled seeds) although our House Finches and Goldfinches do find some seeds in it that they can eat
