  • Cat Loves it!

    By on

My cat love's Dave's foods. This brand wasn't available in the local store, but it's my cat's favorites so I order on Chewy.com all the time. The poor dog wishes she got her food from Chewy too!

  • No Gravy, labeling is confusing

    By on

I usually order the Tuna and Tuna & Chicken Dinner in Gravy, which Chewy labels as a "Pate" which in reality are super small minuscule shreds of meat in a pudding-like gravy. Chewy labels this texture as shredded, but Dave's says it's in "gravy". The reality is that its that type of texture that looks like a bunch of tiny worms all mushed together and there is no gravy. It is not at all like the other gravy dinners, which is what I was expecting. 3 stars because the label says gravy and it is as dry as a bone.

  • Finally, a grain-free option my cats will all eat!

My 7 spoiled furbabies have recently been subjected to the “horrors” of switching to grain-free wet food (from their norm of Friskies Shreds, which they inhale but whoa, the litter boxes get a workout.) Thinking a better input would result in less litter box output, I’ve spent hours reading reviews, studying labels & ingredients for every can on Chewy, weeding out any foods that contain carrageenan (why is this allowed in pet foods?)...all in search of the holy grail of grain-free wet cat food. I’ve tried about 5 different brands so far (this is an expensive experiment in case-quantities) only to find out that they detest pate, ditto for the aspic gel-goo type, and what some brands consider shreds My 7 spoiled furbabies have recently been subjected to the “horrors” of switching to grain-free wet food (from their norm of Friskies Shreds, which they inhale but whoa, the litter boxes get a workout.) Well, the search is over for us! This is the one flavor type of Dave’s that does NOT contain carrageenan...and meets my picky 7’s taste...it looks like shreds in gravy & must be close enough in smell (comparable to their beloved Friskies) that they all devour it! Side note: While I’m getting adjusted to the price hike to feed them this (it’s double cost), there are definite improvements in the litter boxes ;) … more

  • Dave's canned cat food excellent so far

    By on

I tried a case of this since I have a lot of cats I feed between my house and my dads and I am trying to feed them more healthy but they turn away from most healthy choices.. they seem to like Purina Pro Plan but I have bought much more expensive and better and they turn away. I tried this and so far they all love it!! looking forward to trying some other flavors and see if it continues to be something they want. sometimes these fussy furry guys like something new and then want to go back to their bad habits lol. but so far.. good choice.

  • Bits are too big

    By on

I have to cut up the shredded bits before my cats will even touch it. Otherwise all they do is lick off all the gravy. I will not be buying it again because it is a pain to have to chop it up before feeding.

  • No answer from Dave's

    By on

The cats loved the food but I had a question on the ingredients so I emailed them twice. They never answered my emails. I have to wonder what they are hiding.

To show her dislike, my cat would not touch this food even though it was the only thing I put down for her to eat.

My cats are finicky like most and it's hard changing them to a new healthier food. Not this time, all 3 love it!
