My cats liked it initially; then not so much

I really wanted to love Dave’s food. I was pleased with ingredients and price. I have 5 cats but also help support the “fixed” colony of homeless cats in my neighborhood

I really wanted to love Dave’s food. I was pleased with ingredients and price. I have 5 cats but also help support the “fixed” colony of homeless cats in my neighborhood. I think I’m the only one who also offers them wet food along with dry. Inside and outside cats ate the turkey and giblets initially, seemed to like it better than Dave’s plain turkey dinner. But it only took a day or two and both sets of cats started rejecting the T & G. I waited a few days, tried again, was a No Go. Only the newest starving homeless kitty ate any, but did not finish. I had bought the large cans rather than the 5.5 oz this time because I feed so many and it’s more economical. But, it was a strike out. I still have 4-5 large cans on the shelf. I may try again, but I hate tossing cat food. I have bought Dave’s 5.5 oz cans before, and same thing happened. The kids ate it for a bit, then no more. I can’t figure out what they don’t like because my cats have readily eaten turkey from various brands in the past. Cats are unpredictable!

Cats didn't like it

Interestingly, I fed this food over the last couple of years when Mama Cat was pregnant and when kittens started eating wet food. They always ate it, no problems

Interestingly, I fed this food over the last couple of years when Mama Cat was pregnant and when kittens started eating wet food. They always ate it, no problems. I switched to other foods for several months and when I bought this again, None of the cats wanted to eat it, not outdoor or indoor cats. I don't know if the recipe of ingredients changed, or what. There were times when I opened a can and as I spooned it out on plates, there was an odor with some of the cans. I didn't realize at first it was the food. Several of the cans were damaged (dents in different areas on about 1/2 of the cans in the 12 can case). I threw them away, and Chewy credited me for them. Chewy is always so good about fixing issues with orders and I appreciate that very much. Over the years I definitely liked that Dave's cat foods was a higher quality than the grocery store brands. Again, not sure what the cats didn't like about it as several are feral cats that we've slowly been taming and taking to Animal Protection League for neutering and spaying. They always eat a hearty meal with no leftovers.

Quality at a great price

So hard to find quality food without fillers and byproducts at a decent price. Shouldn't be so hard and expensive to feed our fur babies quality food.. I feel this

Stuck w/two cases, will donate to raffle late.

They used to like it, but have eaten it for several years. Recent change to Weruva canned is a huge hit. Our three show cats also eat raw as their primary diet.

Clean ingredients

I wish this food was cheaper! My cat does amazing on it, the ingredients are what every pet food should be! Literally no fillers, no or protein, just straight chicken/turkey
