Diamond Care Sensitive Stomach Formula Adult Grain-Free Dry Dog Food, 8-lb bag

My dog is fifteen years old. For ten of those years, she ate Purina Beyond Simply 9, with no issues. I actually started feeding it to her because some digestive problems began experiencing at two. For ten years, we had no issues. The Purina discontinued that food, and I have spent the past three years trying to find something comparable, while battling the digestive problems that have resurfaced. Due to her age, she also has "old dog kidney insufficiency", though the vet has not officially called it kidney failure. I really wanted to try Diamond's CARE kidney formula, but Chewy won't sell it without vet approval. This is sensitive stomach formula has pretty much the same ingredients and nutrient analysis, so we gave it a try. I liked that this food is lower in phosphorus, compared to others. After our second bag, I decided it wasn't helping enough to be worth the shipping hassle. (The second bag took a week to arrive and we actually ran out of food for her while waiting.)The same issues were still present, though the constant nighttime pooping-while-asleep did improve. The consistency of the stool, however, was more moisture content, and very gummy/tacky/sticky, compared to other foods, making picking it up messy. So, its back to the drawing board for us. I guess we will be trying local grocery store options, at this point, as my third most recent Chewy order is also not here yet, and now I've run out of her supplements.

Donnie has had trouble with his tummy in the form of gas for a while but I mixed this product with his regular food and it really has made a difference, no more gas!!!
