I have a Great Dane, which is better for her? Deer or Elk antler?
Answer by ChewyDec 18, 2017
Deer antlers are the hardest antlers so they are intended for aggressive chewers. Elk antlers is is not as hard and works well with active chewers while moose antlers are the softest and works well pups that like to chew but aren't as aggressive.

Is this whole or split?
Answer by ChewyAug 05, 2017
This is a whole antler.

Do they smell?
Answer by ChewyFeb 28, 2023
These chews are low odor. However, because this is a natural treat, you may notice a natural scent while your pal chews.

I have a Power Chwer Pittie, she is ferocious on everything. I need something that will not break off or Splinter. Are these good for Pitties???
Answer by ChewyJul 18, 2018
These natural chews are durable, but can splinter depending on the chewer. If you do suspect that it is splintering, or you see broken pieces, take them away from your dog to prevent a choking hazard.

Antler Chew

I have two large dogs, one of which likes slightly smaller bones. This was advertised as shown in the pictured as an 8-9" antler. I got a barely 8" antler tip, this chew is 1" thick at the widest point and tapers to almost 1/4" at the top, these are unsuitable for a medium to large dog even though they are the right length. This was an expensive chew, I am disappointed.

Great, but 50/50 on durability

Purchased two 6 to 7.5 inch antlers for my year old wolfdog and 9 year old shepherd mix. The packaged arrived very quickly, within three days, which was awesome. Both antlers (one tine and one beam) were roughly the same length, though the tine was obviously thinner, yet much more dense. The beam cut, however, was much softer and lighter. I let my dogs choose between the two and they each chose separately, but later they both settled on sharing the beam over the tine. Guess they preferred it as it is softer and easier to hold while chewing. Unfortunately to say, it didn't last as long as I had hoped which was about a week and a half. Both dogs are now sharing the tine and it is lasting much longer than the first. Overall, my dogs love them both but it's a 50/50 on the durability of the antlers themselves. I'll most likely purchase more in the future, though I might go one size bigger to see if there is a difference.

Very narrow and not XL!

I bought two antlers and both of them are pretty narrow. One is relatively long but about the diameter of a penny. The other has half about the diameter of a penny and the other is what I’d consider XL. I wouldn’t buy these since they’re basically antler tips. If you have large dogs, they’ll be able to break them off into sharp bits. The XL could work for medium (eg beagle) sized dogs, but they aren’t good for large dogs (eg golden retriever).

Long lasting

A great bone for tough chewers. Roxy is a pitbull and she has chewed through a SPLIT elk antler in two days. This one lasted two months! Of all her bones, it’s definitely the favorite. I’ve ordered two of them and both were the antler tips. Hoping to get a midsection of the antler next time with more marrow.

lasted 10 minute

I have two medium size dogs, and I ordered two large antlers for them. I had to take it away from my one dog after less than 10 minutes because it started splintering and breaking chunks off. I’ve given them antlers before that have lasted months. What a waste of money.!

pointy end chews delivered

To Chewy's credit, I did receive a 100% refund for delivery of chews that did not match the pictures. I wanted antler chews with blunt ends, not pointy, but that is what I received.

Not recommended for small, med & some large breeds

It Splits & breaks and can break teeth per the vet Stick with beef marrow bones this company is very good, the antlers are not. We had a ER visit with my frenchie for continued Gastro and vomiting.. not recommended they are pricey and not worth the anxiety.

Misleading photos and description

I purchased two of these antlers expecting them to be cut on both ends like the photo. Both antlers I received are extremely tapered and thin with sharp points. In addition, one is split for a good portion of the length. If I wanted a split antler I would have ordered one!

When in doubt size up

If you have an aggressive chewer or larger dog, size up. I love that these are not split. Our pitbull is a shredder as well as chewer and we have yet to find a nylon toy that can hold up to her behavior. These antlers last, and what she does wear down is manageable no large splits or shards.
