Feeding Instructions

Daily Feeding (cans):

Feed according to the age, size and activity level of your cat. Feed at room temperature and refrigerate unused portion. Keep fresh water available at all times.

Transition Instructions

Some pets may have sensitive stomachs and could potentially experience digestive upset from a sudden diet change. Because of this, we recommend making a gradual transition between foods. Begin with 25% of the recommended daily portion of the new food mixed with 75% of the recommended daily portion of the previous diet. Feed this blend for 2-3 days and then change the mix to 50% of each for 2-3 days. Then feed 75% of the recommended daily portion of the new food with 25% of the recommended daily portion of the previous diet for a final 2-3 days before fully switching.

Cats can be funny about diet changes. Watch closely to be sure that your cat is eating during the transition. We recommend that you put two bowls of food out - one for the new food and one for the old - so that you can closely monitor how much of each is being consumed.

    ok at first

    By on

Only got this until you could re-stock what I usually get. Cats ate it at first but, lost interest with 7 cans left. Had to get their usual at a local store to hold us over.

    My whole house stinks!

    By on

This food smells awful (like all cat food does) but somehow this one is making mystery cat food smells all throughout the house! And my cat got diarrhea and the smallest poops ever!! My entire house smells like cat food and cat poop. I'll be donating this to a cat shelter and purchasing something else.

    Great value, cats like it.

    By on

I feed my cats a variety of foods and brands, so I don't know if I will see a difference with hairballs if I only feed this once every other day. However, they like this food! And at $1 per can with no fish and only named meat products, this is a great value!

All 3 of my cats love this cat food. Finally. They are very picky. It's a great supplement to combat hairballs. Very happy with it.

    So far, so good

I have a finicky old gang. They seem to like this. I hesitate, because I have to give it a few weeks.

    Decent Compromise

    By on

So far, my slightly portly longhair approves. We went with this formula not only because of it's insoluble fiber content, but also it's relatively high protein vs. some other indoor and/or weight management foods. It'd be great if Diamond could make a wet indoor/weight management combo product, by trimming calories another ~10%, mostly via carb and fat reduction (preferably not by making "ocean whitefish" a primary protein). Maybe a little extra taurine wouldn't hurt either, given that some experts think higher fiber can affect absorption. Overall, though, an okay part of the diet.

    Big Success!

    By on

Finally, a food that all 4 of my cats will eat. They clean the plates! The food itself has very good ingredients so I'm happy to stick with it. The indoor/hairball is a little sticky and thick but I add water or stock. The whitefish is of perfect consistency.
