What's the best way to transition to this food since it has so many more calories than the food my dogs currently eat?

Start out by feeding 25% Best Breed the first three days 50% the next four days and 75% the remaining three days. If you do not have enough of the old food left to do a full 10 days, just shorten the duration down to whatever you can do.

Trusted nutrition that is vet formulated with high quality ingredients. I was feeding this formula for a while, but needed to switch to a more age appropriate formula for her because of Calorie intake. If your dog is younger and more active or needs the calories this formula is a great choice. It also isn't breed specific, hence the name All Breed. Awesome kibble.

Wrong address

My weimaraner gained a lot of weight with this Dr. Gary's Best Bree.

We adopted our dog back in 2018 in the Dominican Republic, and we were feeding him with other vet brand (not commercial brand). He was very healthy, and his fur

We adopted our dog back in 2018 in the Dominican Republic, and we were feeding him with other vet brand (not commercial brand). He was very healthy, and his fur was shiny back then. In 2020, COVID-19 hit, and we returned to the US in November. Due to the increase in the price of the brand we were buying, we went to a Vet appointment in Virginia, and he gave us samples of Dr. Gary's dry food. Buzz liked it, so we decided to switch to this brand slowly. With time, during our walks, people asked what breed our dog was; also, people greeted us, and a few people said: " Your labrador is cute" (we have a brown Weimaraner). Given the time to take him for his annual check-up in the US, buzz weighed 105 pounds!!! So we started giving my dog less Dr Gary's food and vegetables. He didn't lose weight. In June 2023, we left Buzz for 10 days in a row at a pet hotel (we were moving to Texas), and he lost 20 pounds, then he gained weight again easily. We moved to Texas in October 2023, and I decided to give him half of the recommended portion. also, I switched to giving Buzz human food (chicken, rice, sweet potato, and fruits), and he has finally lost weight again. He is 88 pounds as of today. Now that I can see the story of my dog, I am sure that this food is high in carbs (I read different reviews, and there was a guy who also stated that his dog gained a lot of weight and alerted that this food contains a lot of carbs). Last but not least, by coincidence, Buzz has become allergic to the grass, the environment, the heat, and the cold since he started eating Dr. Gary's. He has been taking different medicines for different reasons, and although I can't prove that this brand has caused a weak immune system, I know that Buzz was totally healthy before he started eating Dr. Gary's.

Plus I was looking for a cheaper option. Well turns out I have a dog with rich tastes because this is the only food he will eat! Lol So for us it's worth the little extra money!
