Does it lose its potency over time? We have a five gallon water dispenser and we refill it every few days for our Danes.

Is this safe for cats as well?

TropiClean makes several Fresh Breath Solutions for dogs and a different solution for cats. Although they have similar ingredients, the concentrations of some of the ingredients in the dog versions are higher. Due to this, it is possible (although uncommon) that some cats may see an increased potential of a sensitive reaction drinking the higher concentrated version. Symptoms of sensitivity are usually mild and gastrointestinal in nature. Use of the dog version with cats is at the owner’s discretion.
So you are saying that the bowl of water must be changed and new additive added every day? I have a water bowl with a bottle that empties weekly. Would I have to stop using that?

Depending on how many ounces of water your pet's bowl is, add the appropriate amount of Fresh Breath Water Additive. The water will not need to be changed every day. Please note that fountains with filters may reduce the potency of the product.
How long should it take to see a difference?

Your pet's breath will be fresher within the first hour and then up to 12 hours after drinking the water with the additive. Depending on the stage of your pet's dental and physical health, results may vary in when you see healthier teeth or stronger hips and joints.
