The dose is one Tablespoon per 25 pounds, which is for dogs, right? What is a serving for cats?

Answer by ChewyJan 15, 2026
The feeding directions are the same for both dogs and cats: One tablespoon per day, per 25 lbs of body weight. Sprinkle over your pet's food or mix with 1/4 cup warm water to make a gravy. Store at or below room temperature.

What vitamins are in it?

Answer by ChewyNov 17, 2020
Dr. Tim's Beef Taurine Topper is simply freeze-dried beef from Texas, salmon oil and taurine. Each tablespoon contains 200 milligrams of Taurine.

Does this product help with joint pain at all?

Answer by ChewyFeb 26, 2021
This topper is formulated to support healthy heart function and the immune system. The Taurine helps build proteins for heart muscles, and the Salmon oil reduces inflammation and collects free radicals.

My eight cats would not eat any food it was put on or in. I added it to their wet food and even added pureed pumpkin which they love and they would not eat it. I even cut way back on dosing thinking if I add just a little more as they got used to it they still wouldn’t eat their food. So I do not foresee myself buying it again.

I was unsure if Kesha would eat it. The only canned foods she eats well do not supply taurine. I just adopted her about a year ago. I wanted to have another senior after my two older cats died. She has continued to eat the food with the added taurine. She does also supplement it with dry food. Wish I could get her to gain weight.

One cat will eat this; one will not

I can't say how well this is working because I haven't done bloodwork to check taurine levels, but I can say that only one of my two cats will eat it. I got another kind for the picky cat that she likes. After this bag is gone, I will switch them both over to the other brand.

My girls LOVE this stuff, they will no longer eat their food unless this is on top. They seem happier & more energetic. We'll keep using for a few months and see

They eat it, but they don’t love it.

Kermit is still vomiting, although less frequently, so might be this product. He was increasing his frequency until adding his topper, and there’s been a drastic

This is very easy to use. How ever before you just start scooping out a dose for your pets weight you need to see your pets food to see how much taurine is in it. Just so you are not over dosing and waisting. Your vet can tell you how much your animal should have if you are not sure. I am using it on the dry food all 3 of my cats eat as Gunny didn't like it in her wet food. With in just a couple days all their eyes didn't have any more runny eye yuck. So nice to see clean faces.

Our cats won't eat this

I sprinkled on their food, I mixed with water like the directions says and they won't touch this, I tried a few times.
