Can I use this with a ball python?
Answer by ChewyAug 17, 2018
This substrate is recommended for tropical reptiles, and may raise humidity to more than the recommended 60% humidity that's necessary for a Ball Python.

I have a bull frog, can this be with water and plants as well or no?
Answer by ChewyMay 26, 2019
This natural substrate can be used as a nutritional planting soil for live plants in a terrarium set-up, however, the natural coconut fibers may float in water.

Hey, can this be used by itself, or must I mix it with more coconut coir? Planning to use this for a gargoyle gecko. :)
Answer by ChewyApr 07, 2019
Gargoyle geckos require high humidity conditions, and the coconut husk fibers will hold moisture and assist in creating that environment. However, there is a significant risk of geckos eating this and becoming impacted. If used, you can optionally mix this.

Can I use this for a garden snail?
Answer by ChewyNov 21, 2021
This substrate would be suitable for use in a snails habitat.

Cool substrate

I honestly like the product, and I used it as a top soil for planting dandelions. So, my tortoises aren't able to eat the soil.

Great for tarantulas

I apparently need to always keep this on hand as I am getting tarantulas as if they were Pokemon and I gotta catch em all. They should each have a few inches of substrate depending on the species and this substrate seems to be a favorite.

My mice love it

After looking at many small pet blogs, I found that plantation soil was a safe digging substrate for my mice and other digging rodents. I gave them a little box with this soil in it with treats hidden in it and they absolutely love it.
