Absolutely! All Feline Natural products and their ingredients are GMO-free.
We’re glad you asked! To ensure that our products contain the necessary amount of nutrients through seasonal variations in our ingredients, we have carefully selected a handful of essential vitamins and minerals to add to our recipe. Canola oil is used as a binder for these goodies, which you’ll be pleased to know makes up 0.001% of the actual recipe. All of our wholefood ingredients are grown and sourced locally and sustainably in New Zealand including canola oil, which is GMO free.
Our canned range contains the same wholefood goodness of our other recipes, which has been canned for your convenience. The product is heated during the canning process leaving all the nutrients inside the can. The best part - we don’t use any gels or binders whatsoever! The only thing we add is natural New Zealand water.
Not us! Feline Natural does not use any form of high pressure processing/pasteurization in the production of this product.
I gave this product 4 stars because my kitty loved it for years and we never had a problem until recently. I recently discovered VERY sharp, hard, white "foreign objects" in this food - 8 bags all packed around September 2021 and one bag in January 2022. I am in touch with Feline Natural about this as well as Chewy, of course. Some of the pieces were razor-sharp. I saw one other review (so far) that speaks of the same problem. I am devastated as my kitty loves Feline Natural Freeze-Dried food and this product has been a staple part of his diet for a few years now. I read somewhere that the only downside of freeze-dried cat food is that cats will not eat other foods - especially canned. This is what is happening with my dear boy. He rejects everything and he is losing weight. I am worried that he will become malnourished. Feline Natural kindly sent me some free Freeze-Dried Chicken & Lamb but it was riddled with hard, sharp white pieces of what appeared to be bone. The Lamb Healthy Bites also contained chunks of hard white tissue-.maybe skin or connective tissue. The Salmon and Lamb also contined the hard, sharp pieces and so did the Beef Hoki. My boy has tummy challenges so I am afraid these pieces may be exacerbating his digestive issues. He had some mucous and pus in his stool with a speck of blood on his bottom. I am worried that one of the hard pieces tore his tissue somewhere. I did not discover these pieces until I was feeding him and handling some of the food. At first, I thought it was metal, and the piece nearly punctured my skin. I sure hope the Feline Natural Quality Assurance team will take this seriously and fix the problem. We are lost without this food. I am one extremely worried cat mom. My kitty wants his food back!! Is anyone else in the same boat?
This is one of the only foods that doesn't make my cat sick! My cat only likes the freeze dried lamb/chicken, not the canned version. I give him Feline Natural in the morning and the I and Love and You brand Whascally rabbit/beef canned food in the evening. I stopped buying foods that contain vegetables and harmful things like tapioca starch. The small amount of flaxseeds doesn't bother my cat. I hope they don't add fruits and vegetables or change the ingredients.
I purchased this cat food after researching that it is supposedly one of the best raw cat foods. My cat threw up every single time I gave her this cat food, and she is someone who does not have a sensitive stomach at all. I have read other customers' reviews on different websites that circa 2020 their cats also started to throw up this cat food despite having eaten this regularly with no problems before 2020, due to a change in the ingredients and the addition of some oxygen absorbing ingredient in this cat food. Regardless of whether any alleged added ingredient is the culprit, but reading that other cats are also throwing up after eating this cat food who had formerly had no problem with this cat food, was red flag enough for me to stop giving this cat food to my cat instead of waiting for my cat to "adjust" to this new food. I wish manufacturers would not ruin a good product by tinkering with it.
All my cats like this. I don't usually give my cats anything dry however great ingredients. great if you are trying your cat from regular dry kibble to a healthier diet.
My 2 kittens love this stuff. I wasn't sure if they would but both of them licked their plates clean.
I put hot water on a couple of scoops, let it cool, mash it a little, and serve. It's good for them and they love it. By adding the water, it gives them the moisture they need.
My cats go through a bag a week of this food. Today I found a piece of blue plastic in one of the pieces of food.
One of my younger cats used to like this food, not anymore...
I use this as a topping for my two cats. They both like it very much! The only drawback is the high price! As long as they like!
I did a lot of research and decided to get this - even though it's expensive - because there are virtually no carbs and the ingredients seemed perfect for obligate carnivore cats. (Our cat used to be able to hunt on the farm and we have moved to the city so she no longer has her steady diet of mice. She's not happy.) I hydrated it according to directions. She gobbled it up - I mean she REALLY liked it. About 5 minutes later, she vomited the entire meal. I thought maybe it was a coincidence since she is a thyroid cat and she has some issues with vomiting. So I waited several days and the next time I added ONE single pellet, dry as a topper to her kibble. Same result. About 5 minutes later, she vomited her breakfast. I gave 2 stars because I still think the ingredients are great, our cat did eat it enthusiastically and lots of pet parents are very happy with it, when I read the reviews. Several other reviews mention that it made their cats vomit, so just be aware it may not agree with your fur baby!
